Hiking trails of the Paganamaa Landscape Reserve

Pahkla, Rõuge vald, Võru maakond, 66115

there are three different hiking trails with a length of 3.8 km, 4.3 km and 4.7 km in the Paganamaa , just off the Latvian border in plus, there’s a  gazebo in .
All trails begin at the Paganamaa bonfire site, where a beautiful view of Paganamaa nature can be enjoyed from the tower. on the trails, you’ll see a mixed forest with a primeval forest appearance and an old Kazik, with Kikkajärv and greater Mudajärv on the road. at the beginning of the hiking trails, there’s also a resting place, which is a good place for bonfire making, camping, camping.

Valgesoo study trail

The study trail is well-suited for getting acquainted with the development and vegetation of bogs and for observing pine cultures. A 1.8 km long circular study trail revolves around the Valgesoo bog. On the she study trail you can explore the bog vegetation, old pine plantation ("Baron's pine forest"), and a forest edge rich of Scottish wood ants. The whole trail is accessible by a wheelchair or stroller. To facilitate movement on the track, there is a track map and colour markings on the trees. There is an observation tower and a campfire site at the start of the study trail.Valgesoo bog is one of the 21 places worth discovering in Southern Estonia, which is suggested to be visited for those who are interested in nature.

Fairy Trail

The Fairy Trail, also known as the Vitipalu Adventure Trail, offers a fairytale experience for both children and adults. The trail takes you through the mushroom and berry forests of Elva, where Witch Island awaits, featuring the lovely "Little Witch" house, cool tree sculptures, and a low-adventure trail built in the middle of the forest, perfect for children and families to have a great time in nature. The 1.4 km long trail, part of which is accessible with a stroller, intersects with the Elva River's primeval valley hiking trail and introduces the diverse landscape of Elva. The trail starts and ends at the RMK Jõeharu picnic area and camping site, where several shelters with grills and campfire sites are available.

Tartu Karlova Port Caravan Park

Karlova Harbor Caravan Park is a modern caravan park with a great location in the center of Tartu. Located in the immediate vicinity of the Emajõgi River, the park offers electricity, wastewater and greywater disposal, as well as toilets and showers. The price includes a parking space, drinking water, electricity, a toilet, garbage collection, and the option to dispose of wastewater. For an additional fee, it is possible to rent a sauna and do laundry. The adjacent caravan building also houses a café and rooms for seminars and meetings. Peipsi Caravan – caravan park

If you are exploring the Onion Route in a campervan or caravan, you can spend the night at Peipsi Caravan camping. The recreation area, which has been transformed into a natural park and is located in an old farmyard, has ten caravan sites with electricity. There is also enough space for campers with tents. You can take domestic water from a well.In winter period (from October until March) you can rent the whole holiday home, which accommodates 6 people. In addition you can relax in the authentic smoke sauna. Sauna heating by prior arrangement.Lake Peipus and the Nina beacon light are only a ten-minute walk away from the recreation area. Aruküla hill recreation area

There is a lovely recreation area on Aruküla hill in Kaarepere which is perfect for families, friends, and larger groups.There is a playground with swings and a slide, especially loved by younger children.You can rest under the shelter or on benches or your own picnic blanket. Barbecue facilities are also available on site.Visitors can also play disc golf (there is a rental point).The Struve Geodetic Arc is also located in the recreation area.The view of Vooremaa from the hill is magnificent and there is plenty of room for camping.

Tellingumäe observation tower and recreational area

Tellingumäe's 25-meter-high observation tower offers a beautiful view of the winding Mustjõgi gorges and the hilly landscape typical of South Estonia. Latvia can be seen in the distance, as nearby the Mustjõe River joins the Koiva (Gauja) River on the Estonian-Latvian border. Tellingumäe observation tower is a great place to observe nature and birds. Several rare bird species can be found here. The tower has an RMK campfire site and marked cycling and hiking trails of different lengths, like the Estonian-Latvian joint cultural heritage trail and the Koiva Cycling Trail.
