On the tour, we explore the mysteries of Tartu’s history and learn about the more mystical aspects of various places, legends, light and shadows, and feel the aura of centuries past. Walking through the Old Town, illuminated by Christmas lights, on snowy streets, and in a quiet park environment, snowy Tartu unfolds like a postcard – every corner hides a new story, and each step reveals the city’s unique character.
A leisurely pace allows you to enjoy the moment and notice architecture and details that might otherwise go unnoticed. On the walk, we also explore the local flavors of Tartu’s Christmas City, which add warmth to the journey and provide an opportunity to experience winter Tartu with all your senses.

Peipsimaa museum

The Peipsi County Museum introduces the life of the Old Believers, the kitchen and church culture, and the life and work of the world-famous icon painter Pimen Sofronov from the local village of Tiheda. Samovars, "podrushniks", icons, "lestovkas" are worth seeing. You can buy souvenirs and handicrafts related to the culture and nature of Peipsi, as well as sweets, tea mixtures and other local products. A guided tour introducing the Old Believers and the Ivan Chai tea ceremony can be booked in advance. With a museum ticket, you can also visit the Peipsi Järve Elu room with a permanent exhibition located next door.

Scooter hike on the timeline of Setomaa

A hike that combines physical activity, fresh air, and a sense of history!Come alone, bring a friend or all of them, and enjoy a scooter hike in the magnificent atmosphere of Setomaa in the landscapes and villages near Lake Lämmijärv. Pindi Veinitalu in Võru County is a small winery where unique berry and fruit wines are made from both South Estonian forest products and local raw ingredients. We have wines for every taste – dry, semi-dry, and dessert.The tastings are held at the Andri-Peedo goat farm. During the visit, the Andri-Peedo family will introduce the goat farm while we taste their goat cheeses and the wines of Pindi Veinitalu.

Contact Konstantin, the owner of Kostja Onion Farm, when the onions are starting to ripen. You can buy any variety and quantity of onions and onion garlands from him. You can also buy mouth-watering onion pies, which must be ordered in advance. They are worth it! For those interested in onion cultivation, Kostja offers a guided tour (in Estonian, German, and Russian), during which he introduces the traditional onion-growing methods of the Old Believers and modern tips for growing onions in your garden. The farm also offers onion wreath weaving workshops.

Communication and Laptop Museum

As the name suggests, it is a museum that introduces means of communication and laptops. The Communication and Laptop Museum opened its doors on June 10, 2023. In the communications museum section, there is a switchboard with cords, a telephone exchange from 1969; main distribution frame; telephone sets; payphones + payphone booths; overhead lines; mail baskets; communication instruments. Large Elion-Microlink-EMT-Telia signs and logos that used to be on the buildings. Also over several hundred mobile phones, among them old NMT mobile devices, antennas, and a 13 m cell phone mast. In terms of computers, there are a few desktop computers and twenty laptops.You can make calls inside the museum with a dial phone.

Karilatsi Open Air Museum

Karilatsi Open Air Museum is a unique open air museum in Southern Estonia which provides an overview of the life of Vana-Võromaa County about 100 years ago.On the 5-hectare territory of the museum, you can experience moments from the school life and farm work of that time and get to know everyday simple tools. Workshops and lessons on traditions and customs: smoke sauna customs, Võromaa wedding customs, celebrations, folk calendar year, and many other experience programmes (e.g. court session in Võru language, old school lesson). You can see a school, a court, and an almshouse with their smaller buildings, a granary, a barn-dwelling, a cottar farm, and a Dutch windmill. Agricultural machinery and vehicles are also on display. Ticket sales to the museum end one hour before closing.

Haunted dinners at Alatskivi Castle

We offer an unforgettable experience with a haunted dinner at Alatskivi Castle. Travel back in time to 140 years ago when the Nolcken family lived in the manor, and there was no electricity or modern technology. During the evening, the lady of the manor will move through the dark rooms of the castle, telling stories of bygone times and ghostly legends, because the castle is truly haunted! The experience includes a guided tour of the castle and a 3-course period-themed dinner, accompanied by a welcome drink. It is possible to order additional drinks with the courses. The minimum number of people is 10. Come and enjoy the historical atmosphere, delicious food, and mystical stories!

Barbecue and beer workshop at Anderson Brewery

Anderson Brewery in Tartu offers an excellent opportunity to participate in a barbecue and beer workshop, where you can enjoy grilled meat and taste Estonian craft beers! The workshop will teach you the basics of grilling, such as choosing meat, grilling beef and duck breast fillets, and making chimichurri herb sauce. During the brewery tour, we will taste eight different beers, learn about the history of beer, get acquainted with the brewing process, and explore the factory shop and the backstage of the brewery. If you wish, the brewery sauna will be heated! Come and enjoy this unique experience!
