The areas surrounding the rivers and bogs of Lake Peipsi have historically been sparsely populated due to the wet soil. The main means of transportation were rivers and waterways through the bog, which froze in winter. We invite you to explore these frozen winter roads with your family and pets! Most of the winter roads still exist today, and the most important one runs from Kodavere to Varnja. We will walk and hike through the bog along the old winter roads with Mesi Tare owner Marko and discuss their importance. We will have a picnic, and, if we are lucky, we will find especially sweet cranberries in the bog! We do part of the journey by karakat, a truck made by the locals to travel over the ice of Lake Peipsi. The hike will only take place during cold winters when there is ice!

At the TYPA Center for Printing and Paper Arts, we offer a historic photo processing process of Cyanotype, or iron-blue print, in which the image is displayed on paper in combination with iron-containing chemicals and UV light. The result is an image with white lines on a blue background. This allows you to make a gift for a loved one and show photos, a skyline of your drawing, or a dried plant instead. If you wish to use your own photo in the workshop, please send it to us digitally at least one day before the workshop for preparation. On the ground, we're here to mentor you, so you can enjoy the creative process and create something truly special!

Pikajärve manor, which is also known as the Cantervilla Castle, is probably one of the cosiest manors in Estonia. The main building (built in 1908) and the vivid quarry stone outbuildings are on a landscape filled with beautiful dome-shaped hillocks, high up on the shore of a lake. The walls of the halls of the eye-catching main building are decorated with landscape paintings and portraits, antique furniture and the light from the chandeliers add festivity and romance. The manor is private property at the moment and operates as an establishment for holding different events and offers accommodation.

Would you like to listen to the sounds of the forest or hear your own thoughts better in silence? Then come to Võru County to a fir forest by the RMK Pähni Nature Centre where you'll find forest megaphones – three gigantic wooden megaphones with a diameter of three metres, each named Ruup.Ruup invites you to read forest sounds and offers hikers a possibility to rest their feet and their minds. Love goes through the stomach! Kubija Hotel-Nature Spa's 150-seat national-style restaurant offers, in addition to regular restaurant dishes, dishes made from local products in accordance with the food traditions of South Estonia. For us, it is important that the raw materials come primarily from local producers operating within a 50-kilometer radius. On warm summer evenings, it's nice to dine on the restaurant's outdoor terrace and simply enjoy the pleasant atmosphere. On weekdays, we offer guests a lunch buffet (main course, cake, flavored water, bread, rolls, and flavored butter), and a cup of coffee or tea is free with the daily special. For groups, we offer various group menu options, and for seminars and meetings, coffee/tea breaks. The restaurant has high chairs and a children's menu for kids. We invite you to enjoy the peace and harmony of nature in our cozy restaurant – whether it's a delicious lunch, a romantic dinner, or a special celebration!
