Kirikumäe's 3.2-km-long hiking trail winds around the lake of the same name, which is known as the best swimming area in the region. There is a bog on the southern shore of the lake and the hiking trail also runs across the bog. For this purpose, a boardwalk has been built there. In any case, however, you must be prepared to get your feet wet here and there. There are information boards, campfires, and forest trails on the track.

The Kotkapesa Holiday Centre complex includes a 320 m2 main house and a smaller house with a sauna and two rooms for accommodation. A narrow-gauge Sonda-Mustvee railway passed through Avinurme during 1926–1972. It was a true 50-year-long prosperity era for the villages located near the route. Today, a section of 178.5 metres of the former railway, the rail brigde, and the rail vehicle have been restored. All those who are interested are welcomed to take a nostalgic train ride from May to October, meaning the railway is opened when the weather is warm enough and the door of the locomotive can be opened and the railway is closed when the door of the locomotive freezes shut.

The memorial is located in Võru central square and is dedicated to the residents of Võru who died in the Estonia ferry disaster during the stormy night of September 28, 1994. The memorial was built in 1996 (sculptor M. Karmin).

The outlying buildings and grounds of the fairytale Cantervilla Castle are home to a theme park and playland reflecting the manor period. There is plenty of fun to be had by the whole family - for the whole day! You can see how people got around back in the day, what clothes they wore, what they ate and how they used to eat it (table manners being very important!). There are lots of attractions in the playland - a water park, various vehicles, a climbing frame, trampolines, a labyrinth, a costume room and much more. Catering is available at the cafe in the playland stable, but you can bring a picnic if you like.
