La Dolce Vita is an Italian restaurant which opened its doors in 2003. Its Italian owners serve up traditional dishes from their country. Its pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven which is unique in Tartu, and there is a wide range of pasta dishes to choose from. Some pasta is imported from Italy, while the rest is made on site. The menu also features traditional meat dishes. The quality of La Dolce Vita's menu is reflected in its simple, authentic components: Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, tomatoes and olive oil. In the summer months you can enjoy the warmer weather on the restaurant's terrace. The Memorial Square of Lydia Koidula and her father Johann Voldemar Jannsen was opened in the Ülejõe Park in Tartu on 3 August 2018.In 1863, their family moved to Tartu, where the father and daughter issued the Estonian newspaper Eesti Postimees, founded the theatre company Vanemuine, and in 1869, organised the first song festival in Estonia. Both were promoters of the Estonian national movement and cultivators of Estonian-language culture.
We love good coffee and nature-friendly thinking. As a result, we had the idea to establish a roastery in the cosiest district in Tartu – Karlova. Here, we always offer coffee that is delicious, fresh, and eco-friendly. The selection is available HERE.In the same ‘room’ as the roastery, you will find a cosy cafe where we work hard every day to ensure that our coffee is the best it can be.Our second favourite is porridge: in the morning and at noon on weekdays, you can try it out!On Sundays, we offer delicious pancakes.
Sepa Farm is a cosy cottage in Aakre village in Tartu County. Guests can use the entire house, which has a bedroom, a walk-through room, a spacious living room, and a kitchen. In total, the holiday house can accommodate 8 people. Guests are provided with clean bed linen and the kitchen is equipped with an oven, a fridge, a kettle, a coffee maker, and other necessary kitchen utensils. There is also a wood-burning grill on the terrace.Sepa Farm is an ideal holiday cottage for families with children: it is possible to feed animals on the farm, hike in the forest, go to the sauna, and pick berries and mushrooms.
Metsjärve camping houses are located in Põlva County, Puskaru village, in a beautiful pine forest and by a beautiful lake. The historic Postal Road and the Road Museum are in our immediate vicinity.The camping houses are heated and offer year-round accommodation. Our cosy camping houses accommodate four people, but there is room for up to three extra beds. Each camping house has a private barbecue area and some also have a mini kitchen.In summer, for a fee, you can ride a wakeboard or tube at Wakepark. 'The Kissing Students' sculpture and fountain is one of the most recognised symbols of Tartu. The fountain has stood in the same place since 1948, when newlyweds and their guests would visit it for luck, and people would also take a dip in it. The sculpture was created by Mati Karmin and completed in 1998. Since 2006 the fountain has been surrounded by tiles bearing the names of Tartu's sister cities – Bærum, Deventer, Ferrara, Fredriksberg, Hafnarfjörður, Hämeenlinna, Kaunas, Lüneburg, Pihkva, Riia, Salisbury, Tampere, Turu, Uppsala, Veszprem and Zutphen. Each of these is situated in the direction that the cities lie from Tartu, with the distances marked.
Alatskivi Ceramics is a unique space where history and Estonian craftsmanship converge – it is situated in the vaulted basement of Alatskivi Castle, where the manor's servants once resided. Now a talented ceramics master works there, creating unique, high-quality handmade clay products on-site – bowls, cups, jugs, and other beautiful everyday ceramics that make lovely gifts! Visitors can purchase and admire these unique items in the shop and also try their hand at working with clay – the workshops are suitable for adults and are especially popular with children. You can also visit the castle, the Eduard Tubina Museum, the Alatskivi Castle Horse Stable Exhibition, and the restaurant!
The old, dignified Kadrina Manor in South Estonia offers guests rooms for two to four people, a small suite, a luxurious sauna and relaxation center, the Short Men's Tavern, and a conference hall. A little away from the manor, near the river, four campsites await guests, one of which can accommodate four people, and a toilet and shower in a separate camping house. There is also a camp kitchen in a separate house where you can prepare a good breakfast and coffee. In warmer weather, you can camp, and there are places for camper vans.
