Heino Lubja Museum of Scales

The main exposition of the Lake Museum is live Estonian freshwater fish. Our freshwater fish are not exhibited elsewhere in Estonia in such species quantity.About half of Estonia's freshwater fish live here, including more exotic species, as well as turtles, lake balls, and crayfish.You can visit 2 floor aquariums and 2 large cylindrical aquariums. There are more than 25 different aquariums in total. There is also a collection of fishing gear, an exhibition of primitive fish, and much more!You can book a sauna raft for a pleasure cruise or a sauna session and use a seminar room with a million-dollar view. During summers, a café is open.

The hike takes us through the beautiful Emajõe-Suursoo bog, where we spend the night in the wilderness on a secluded bog island. In the evening, we will prepare dinner on a camp stove, using as many seasonal forest products as possible. We will spend the night in hanging beds with a magnificent view of the sunrise! In the morning, we will have a light meal, take down camp, and hike across the bog to the end point. A local guide leads the hike, which includes the guide's service, equipment (bog shoes, hanging bed, camp stove), and meals (breakfast and dinner). Bring your pet along! Between Hellenurme, Elva, and Otepää, there is a unique opportunity to see Estonia's last historical water-powered flour and grist mill in operation – the Hellenurme Water Mill. Upon arrival, we explore the mill building and views over the mill pond to Hellenurme Manor, then we open the turbine, and the mill begins to work, powered by water. Through the mill's four floors, you can see, touch, and feel the power of the mill, and soon fresh flour and grist fall into the bag as in the old days. In the bread house, you can try breadmaking under the guidance of the Mill Mistress, honoring traditions and telling stories about bread and the wisdom of ancestors. In the bread trough, dough is kneaded from sourdough. Each guest molds their own little loaf from a dough ball, which the Mill Mistress throws into the large bread oven with an old bread peel. Soon, the bread house fills with the smell of bread, and each guest can take their loaf from the oven, which tastes warm and buttery like an unforgettable dessert! As writer Juhan Liiv wrote: "... warm bread – imagine!"

Enjoy rural romance, wide-open spaces, and Estonian wines at the Järiste Wine Farm in Tartu County! We will guide you around the vineyards, discuss Nordic viticulture, and visit the wine kitchen. The tasting will take place on our pleasant terrace, decorated with 26-year-old vines, and will include an Estonian cheese selection. You will have the opportunity to taste five delicious products from Järiste Winery, all made with great care and love on the premises. We offer pizza and wine packages for groups.

On the edge of Vooremaa near Lake Peipus is Ulge Farm, where the hosting family has been growing different berry crops for decades. The family has answers to a variety of questions: how to successfully grow strawberries, what do pumpkins love, why should you grow chokeberries, or ... why not make wine from local ingredients?We have stored the unique flavours in a bottle and opened the doors for everyone who wants to have a taste-rich experience.Come and visit us – we will walk around the farm, see what is growing in the field and what kind of agricultural techniques we use, and taste good local wine!

During the kayaking trip we will be introducing to you Lake Pühajärv and its islands, enjoy the beautiful lake views and Estonian summer.The picnic place will be RMK Kooliranna campfire site.For the kayaking trips, we use stable, comfortable, safe and easily steered two-person kayaks. The price of the trip includes a place in the kayak with equipment, guiding service, substantial trip peal (soup, pastry, tea or juice, sweet pastry or fruit) and bottled water to quench your thirst.Come and enjoy the nature with your friends or colleagues!

Come and experience Estonia's vast natural landscapes in a primal way — by dogsled! Karusaare dogsled trips in Tartu County offer unforgettable experiences throughout the year in the forest landscape of Järvselja and the Peipsiveere Nature Reserve in Emajõe-Suursoo. From autumn to spring, we move on off-road carts and, in winter, when there is enough snow, on traditional sleds. You can choose a shorter trip or a longer journey. It is an appropriate activity for the whole family, including children over the age of 3. The hike begins and ends at the sled dog training center, where the instructor shares the necessary safety and driving instructions. On our journey, we take short breaks to water the dogs, and on longer journeys, we stop by the fire to enjoy a bit of heat, light, and warm food. If you wish, you can also order catering to make your trip even more memorable. Trips only take place when the air temperature is below +12 °C and there is no storm warning or wind gusting above 15 m/s.

Enjoy the romantic play of light and dark and Taevaskoja's charm. We travel with lanterns and kicksleds along the trails of Taevaskoja. The trip is led by an experienced tour guide who tells exciting stories about nature, animals, and the region. The air is full of nighttime mystery. Before the trip, there is kicksledding instruction, so everyone can learn to gracefully and competently use the wonderful vehicle, the kicksled. The trip is intended for adults. We travel at a leisurely pace, taking breaks to chat and look for signs of animal activity. In the mystery of nighttime, we can take time to pay attention to ourselves, our companions, and the interesting things around us.
