Rõuge Community Festival „Arts of Survival“

In 2023, the Rõuge community festival “I Know Where My Food Comes From” took place.

We’ve all heard the saying: you are what you eat! The people of Rõuge are well aware of this fact but want to know more, and they are excited to share their knowledge and local flavours with others.

On 9 September 2023, at the initiative of Rõuge rural municipality, a community food festival will take place in Rõuge primeval valley, or Ööbikuorg (Nightingale Valley). With a focus on local and organic food, the day will be packed with lectures by Tartu World University, workshops, discussions and an exciting cultural programme. There will also be a bustling marketplace.

The community festival will detail the developments of the food industry, both locally and globally.

On September 7, 2024, the Rõuge community festival in Ööbikuoru will this time be titled “The arts of survival”. The festival is accompanied by the UMA MEKK local food fair, a lively cultural program, a great children’s area and an exhibition of garden products.
