Carl Schmidt’s House cafe-restaurant

Carl Schmidt’s House lies at the heart of Põltsamaa, in the city of roses. The fancy-sounding name is a nod to the house’s former owner and town elder, who was active here in many walks of life. The building housed the first school in Põltsamaa, published the newspaper Põltsamaa Teataja, and was later the location of a hospital, a hotel, and a canteen. The first floor now belongs to the café-restaurant, while rooms for visitors occupy the upper floors.

Daily specials are on offer every weekday, while á la carte dishes rule Friday nights and the weekends.
