Alatskivi Castle restaurant
When the place still functioned as a manor, meals were served in the western wing of Alatskivi Castle, and we continue to serve food in the dining hall today. Our kitchen’s mission has always been to remember the castle’s history, and we do so chiefly by our menu.
Historically, Alatskivi Castle has had three cultures shaping it: manor culture from the baron’s family, Estonian peasant culture from the servants at the castle, and Scottish culture, which the baron himself held very dear. Scottish culture is immediately noticeable in the castle’s architecture as well. Our menu showcases the impact of all three cultures with a certain historic rusticity.
