Who are the Russian Old Believers? How and when did they arrive in Estonia? Why did they settle in the Peipsi region, and what are their customs? Why have they grown onions this way for centuries? The Old Believers Museum in Kolkja is located on the Onion Route and tells visitors the story of the Peipsi Region's Russian Old Believers. The exhibition is in Estonian, English, and Russian and includes virtual reality, where you can experience the Old Believer prayer. We also offer hour-long guided tours in Estonian and Russian. Anyone interested in horseback riding can try it out in Tamme Tall.We give private lessons and there are three ponies for children waiting in the stable.You can even test your skills by jumping over some obstacles.We organise riding camps for both young and old. You can even spend the night at the Tamme Tall Holiday House. It is possible to swim with horses by Lake Võrtsjärv, ride in the woods, grill, and go to the sauna. The old Lasva Water Tower is home to a gallery where you can get to know the history of the Lasva area and enjoy photo and art exhibitions. A unique attraction in the water tower is its musical piano staircase, which plays different sounds as you step on the stairs going up to the tower. The old water tank in the tower features different seasonal exhibitions. On its grass roof there is a telescope that you can use to take a look at the neighbourhood or for late-night stargazing. Within a stone’s throw is Lasva Village Wood Park, where you will encounter animal figures.

Between Hellenurme, Elva, and Otepää, there is a unique opportunity to see Estonia's last historical water-powered flour and grist mill in operation – the Hellenurme Water Mill. Upon arrival, we explore the mill building and views over the mill pond to Hellenurme Manor, then we open the turbine, and the mill begins to work, powered by water. Through the mill's four floors, you can see, touch, and feel the power of the mill, and soon fresh flour and grist fall into the bag as in the old days. In the bread house, you can try breadmaking under the guidance of the Mill Mistress, honoring traditions and telling stories about bread and the wisdom of ancestors. In the bread trough, dough is kneaded from sourdough. Each guest molds their own little loaf from a dough ball, which the Mill Mistress throws into the large bread oven with an old bread peel. Soon, the bread house fills with the smell of bread, and each guest can take their loaf from the oven, which tastes warm and buttery like an unforgettable dessert! The old, dignified Kadrina Manor in South Estonia offers guests rooms for two to four people, a small suite, a luxurious sauna and relaxation center, the Short Men's Tavern, and a conference hall. ‘Countrywomen’ is a group of sculptures by sculptor Mare Mikofi, completed in 1974, which has been on display at the Town Hall Square in front of the Tartu Art Museum since 2013.It depicts two women, the older one sitting and being content and exhausted, and the other, the younger, standing beside her, empathetically holding her arm around the older woman’s shoulder. The difference between the generations is strongly reflected in their clothing – the younger is wearing trousers, a light vest and platform shoes, and the older one is wearing a dress and an apron, leaving her feet bare.The installation of ‘Countrywomen’ celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Tartu Art Museum in the Leaning House.
