Tobrova Village Chapel

Setomaa vald, Võru maakond, 65342

The small wooden Tobrova tsässon on the right side of the Tobrova-Küllätüvä road looks like a small barn with a modest cross on the roof. This Orthodox chapel built in 1932 is dedicated to Easter  – the most important holiday in Tobrova and nearby villages. Behind the Tobrova tsässon is the Luikjärve farm fort: a well-preserved Seto farm with a closed courtyard, which has been restored by the Obinitsa Museum.Contact the Obinitsa Museum for more information about the tsässon and the farm.

God’s Hill

Jumalamägi (God's Hill) is an ancient sacred place of the Setos. According to legend, this is where God welcomes souls onto his carriage to take them to heaven. In the past, the hill was a place of only local significance and it seemed like it was a thing of the past, but in 2007, the village elder and the locals once again started using it as a sacred place. A local sculptor R. Veeber built the Peko statue on the hill.People visit Peko* – fertility god of the Setos – before major undertakings for luck and success. They also make sacrifices there. Locals see the statue as a place of positive energy, which is why it is perfect for charging one's batteries.

Café-restaurant Andreas

Ööbikuoru Villa's café-restaurant Andreas offers an a la carte menu based on the food culture of Võru County, modern trends, and the changing seasons. We place special emphasis on local food; a large part of the food we use comes directly from Võru County farms. We believe that delicious food can be found even in the most remote places in Estonia. In the summer, it is possible to organize wedding parties for up to 74 people in an outdoor tent with a lake view or celebrate festive events in a room with a glass terrace that can accommodate 40 people. Time at Andreas is time well spent!

Supilinn — Tartu’s historic neighborhood of wooden homes

Supilinn is Tartu's most bohemian district, where 18th-century wooden houses, courtyards awash in urban greenery, and the banks of the Emajõgi River create an unparalleled atmosphere. It combines the best of city living with a natural environment, where you can feel the community spirit and local creativity. Go for a walk in Supilinn on the beautiful promenade along the Emajõgi River, where century-old trees and a tranquil frog pond give the city a breath of fresh air. Street art, colorful courtyards, and wooden houses tell Supilinn's story, which is best experienced during the spring Supilinn Days, when courtyards and gardens open to guests and the entire district turns into a large festival. The best way to explore Supilin is on foot or by bike, so you can notice hidden corners, shutter patterns, and backyard gardens. A walk with a local guide can reveal hidden layers of the district and highlight its bohemian spirit. More information about guided tours can be found on the Tartu Guides page.
