Plan a holiday to South Estonia, in the embrace of Valgamaa’s forests at Salu Hunting House!
If you are seeking peace, quiet, and quality time in good company, then Salu Hunting House awaits you right on the edge of the Soontaga nature reserve. It is an ideal place for smaller corporate events, birthdays, or simply a pleasant vacation with family and friends.
The cozy hunting lodge accommodates up to 12 people. On the first floor, there is a spacious kitchen-dining room equipped with all necessary appliances, a fireplace, a TV, and a comfortable corner sofa. There is also a sauna, a toilet, and a vestibule with a washing machine. The second floor has 6 bedrooms and a large terrace. The rooms offer all comforts, from bed linens to mirrors.
Outside, you can grill, smoke fish, or make a fire in the fire pit. For an additional fee, you can enjoy a smoke sauna, hot tub, or the raft sauna «Britannia.» Active visitors can go canoeing on the Väike-Emajõgi River, and the surrounding forests invite you to pick mushrooms and berries.

Alatskivi Castle Ceramics Workshop

Alatskivi Ceramics is a unique space where history and Estonian craftsmanship converge – it is situated in the vaulted basement of Alatskivi Castle, where the manor's servants once resided. Now a talented ceramics master works there, creating unique, high-quality handmade clay products on-site – bowls, cups, jugs, and other beautiful everyday ceramics that make lovely gifts! Visitors can purchase and admire these unique items in the shop and also try their hand at working with clay – the workshops are suitable for adults and are especially popular with children. You can also visit the castle, the Eduard Tubina Museum, the Alatskivi Castle Horse Stable Exhibition, and the restaurant!

Memorial room for Anna Haava in the Kodavere Heritage Centre

Anna Haava (1864–1957) was an Estonian poet, librettist, and translator who was born on Haavakivi Farm in Pala Parish, Tartu County.The memorial room located in the Kodavere Heritage Centre exhibits photographs of the poet and her relatives, along with a family tree, poetry collections and translations, memorabilia, parts of Anna Haava's correspondence, copies of documents, and a model of Haavakivi Farm.

The Secret Witch’s Trail

You are greeted in Witch Country by senior witch Uhti, who will lead you to the Secret Witch's Trail. There you will encounter a range of obstacles and other surprises. Afterwards, while relaxing in the barbecue area, witch August will prepare something special for you. You can also cook something for yourself, and try a special witch potion. There are also games and competitions with prizes, and dancing with the witches themselves! The adventure lasts for around two hours and costs €200 for a group of up to 30 people. Every additional person costs €4.

Nature Tours Estonia bogshoe hike in Emajõe-Suursoo

Emajõe-Suursoo, located in Tartu County, is home to dozens of bog islands and pristine nature, where a local guide can take you on an adventure. Since humans rarely set foot here, the area is home to a diverse range of species. Using bogshoes, we will walk across the bog islands and explore their primeval forests. We will definitely see traces of animal and bird activity and maybe even meet the local inhabitants themselves. If you are lucky, you may find a proud eagle owl or moose antlers during the hike. The trip also includes a light snack. The hike is suitable for children aged 12 and above. Friendly pets are welcome too!

Piirissaare Old Believers Museum

Discover the charm of the Piirissaare Old Believers Museum! The Old Believers Museum is located in a historic building that once belonged to Kirill Smirnov, the clergyman of the Saare village parish. You can see a traditional Old Believer home in the museum and learn about Old Believer culture through artifacts, prayer books, and icons. The museum also organizes exhibitions that provide an overview of the history of Piirissaare. You can drink samovar tea at the museum and try Old Believer treats, including fish soup and Old Believer pie made from fish caught in Lake Peipsi.

Lake Saadjärv

Lake Saadjärv is the only lake to make the top ten of both the biggest and deepest lakes in Estonia. It covers 708 hectares and is 25 metres deep at its deepest point.It is the largest lake in the Vooremaa region, located in the Vooremaa Landscape Protection Area on the border of Jõgeva County and Tartu County. Lake Saadjärv and its boulders are associated with the legends of Kalevipoeg, the Estonian mythological hero.Lake Saadjärv is a popular recreational area and it offers activities throughout the year. Tähtvere hosts four iconic cycling sites: the largest skatepark in the Baltics, known internationally as the birthplace of the extreme sports event Simple Session; a modern pump track; a BMX cross track; and the most unique bike park in the Baltics, offering challenges for riders of different levels. Tartu Bike Park is suitable for both professional athletes and enthusiasts, offering an opportunity to try something new, even for those who do not cycle daily. The diverse tracks and elements allow every visitor to find a suitable pace and difficulty level, making the park accessible and enjoyable for first-timers. The park is located in the green Tähtvere Recreation Park, just a short bike or walk away from Tartu's city center. In close proximity to Tartu Bike Park are Tartu Sports Park, Tähtvere playground, Tartu Song Festival Grounds, and Tähtvere dendropark with a disc golf course.
