However, if you visit the castle with children and master Tanel is working at the same time, you can leave the children to sculpt in the pottery room—it's often the children's favorite activity at the manor! Tanel glazes the finished objects himself and sends them to your home by mail. Beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects sculpted by Tanel himself can be purchased as souvenirs. River Ahja is well-known for it picturesque and primeval nature. Sandstone outcrops border the river, you can see beavers, otters and the favourite of nature photographers — kingfisher. Some parts of the river have a stronger current, while others are calmer.The hike begins from Koorvere or Kiidjärve and summer hikes include a pancake picnic. All hikers will be given thorough instructions before the hike and guides will keep an eye on you during the canoeing trip.

Kaldemäe Hostel is located between the hills and slopes of beautiful Haanjamaa and it is an ideal place if you wish to have an active holiday in nature, breathe clean air and be away from city noise. The territory of Kaldemäe Farm is large and wide; there is a big pond in front of the sauna where you can enjoy water delights, and a village-style swing for children.There's also a fireplace hall that seats 40 people, that is a perfect place for birthdays and smaller parties. The sights and leisure time possibilities of Haanjamaa are only one and a half kilometres from Kaldemäe Farm: you can go for a hike on Mountain Suur Munamägi or find an activity at the Haanja Holiday and Sports Centre.
