Rebasmäe spring

The Rebasmäe spring (also known as Ilumetsa spring) is the largest floodwater spring in Võru County. You can take a boardwalk to the spring, but before you get on the trail, you have to descend into a shallow valley on the long staircase  and cross the bridge over the Rebasmäe stream. The trail ends at the spring.
The spring water is very clean but contains iron compounds, giving it a distinctive taste and reddish color. It’s definitely worth tasting the water. The approximately meter-deep surface of the spring is crystal clear like a mirror, where you can see the bubbling water flow.
The spring is surrounded by ancient forest, which has been under nature protection since 1981. Silence, birdsong, and the sound of water create a mysterious atmosphere, enhanced by lush mosses and forest plants giving it a jungle-like appearance.
Near the spring on the stream’s bank is the RMK Rebasmäe forest hut, where you can rest, make a campfire, or, if desired, camp and stay overnight.
Good to know: in summer, the spring releases about 30 liters of water per seco

Pühajärve Spa & Holiday Center’s observation tower

From the 25-meter-high viewing platform of the Pühajärve Spa & Holiday Center's tower, visitors have a great opportunity to enjoy the enchanting landscapes around Pühajärve in every season. The modern glass-walled tower, built in place of the former wooden tower of Pühajärve Manor, which also operated as a café for years, offers expansive views of the surrounding area. From the top of the tower, there is a wonderful panoramic view of Pühajärve, Neitsijärve, and the picturesque forests and hilly landscape of Otepää Nature Park. In addition to regular visits, we offer the option to celebrate important events in the tower, by prior arrangement. Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, romantic surprise, engagement, or any other special moment, the unique ambience makes every event even more special. If desired, there is also the possibility to work remotely or spend a peaceful moment alone here. Good to know: To reach the top of the tower, you need to climb 152 steps.

Canoeing on the Elva River

Canoeing is for everyone - from beginners to seasoned pros! The river has something to offer people at all levels. Our goal is to ensure you enjoy yourself - not test your speed and agility on the water. You decide the course you take, how quickly you cover it, whether you do it alone or as part of a group and whether you do it to take in the scenery or for more athletic purporses.The full route covers 10 km and takes 3-4 hours to traverse. The part of the river where we take to the water is ideal for first-timers - it is slightly wider and the current more gentle.Bring with you a raincoat, mobile phone, food and drink and appropriate clothing (i.e. that will dry quickly and that you won't worry about getting dirty). Trainers or similar sports shoes are better than rubber boots.

Selgise cycling trail and Kärgandi campfire site

The length and terrain of the trail make it suitable for moderate training or leisurely enjoying the nature. The trail with its ups and downs runs along winding forest paths and straight forest rides, passing through different forest communities.The trail is 30 km long. It starts and ends at the Kukemetsa forest hut. The trail is marked with signs and runs along forest roads to the north.The best recreation sites along the trail are the forests, Selgise hills, Kukemetsa forest hut, which is approximately 500 m off the trail, and Kärgandi campfire site. The trail was built by the State Forest Management Centre.

Harimägi and Harimäe Observation Tower

Harimägi is one of the largest mesas in the Otepää Uplands (211 m above sea level). It is worth coming to Harimäe whenever you are near Otepää. The Harimäe Observation Tower is located 3 km from Kääriku in the direction of Sangaste. The height of the tower is 28 m, and the highest viewing platform is 24 m high. The tower offers views of the Otepää mountains and across the Väike Emajõgi valley to the Karula upland. Camping is also allowed at the tower. Good to know: Harimägi is also called 'Leenard and Leonhard's hill.' From 1816 to 1819, geodetic surveys were carried out here by the internationally recognised astronomer and surveyor Friedrich Georg Wilhelm Struwe (1793–1864).

Hiking trails of the Paganamaa Landscape Reserve

there are three different hiking trails with a length of 3.8 km, 4.3 km and 4.7 km in the Paganamaa , just off the Latvian border in plus, there's a gazebo in . All trails begin at the Paganamaa bonfire site, where a beautiful view of Paganamaa nature can be enjoyed from the tower. on the trails, you'll see a mixed forest with a primeval forest appearance and an old Kazik, with Kikkajärv and greater Mudajärv on the road. at the beginning of the hiking trails, there's also a resting place, which is a good place for bonfire making, camping, camping.

Pühajärv-Kääriku exercise track

The 9 km Pühajärv-Kääriku exercise track starts by the car park of Pühajärv Spa Hotel. The track runs along the shores of Lake Pühajärv to the Murrumets forest. Once the track leaves the forest behind, it meets the road, where you have to look out for traffic. It then runs on to Kääriku along the Otepää-Kääriku road. There are some steep inclines along the track, which means that inexperienced cyclists and rollerbladers will need to be very careful.In winter, when there is enough natural snow, you can ski on the trail.
