Siksälä Holiday Home, Granary of Conciliation (Leppimise Ait)

Rõuge vald, Võru maakond, 65034

The Granary of Conciliation at Siksälä is located in the middle of forests and lakes, next to Lake Sika in the Vesiveski complex in Misso Parish in Võru County. The place is private – the closest urbanized area is 3.5 km away, and the neighbours include beavers, deer, wild boards, and a lot of birds. The granary is located 30 m from the Vesiveski Holiday Home, next to the Siksälä stream, and there may be guests staying at the Holiday Home.The timber granary was completed in August 2016 and it has a roof made of shingles. There is a wide double bed, a fireplace, a table, and chairs. Washing facilities and the toilet are located outside. Visitors can use a campfire site, rent a boat at Lake Sika and Lake Mustjärv, and rent a lakeside sauna for an extra charge.

Uppsala House in Tartu

Uppsala House is a typical 18th century citizen’s home – a one-storey building with a mansard roof. In 1993, the cities of Uppsala and Tartu entered into a cooperation project 'Restoration of Old Buildings'. This led to the restoration of Uppsala House, which currently belongs to Tartu City Government.Did you know...? The families of a secretary of the highest Livonian court, a saddle maker, tailors and representatives of many other interesting professions have lived in the building at different times. There were rental flats for students in the building in the beginning of the 19th century.Only the exterior of the Uppsala House can be enjoyed by the visitors!The building is listed in the Estonian National Register of Cultural Monuments.

Elistvere study trail

Elistvere study trail is located in Elistvere village, Tartu County. The trail is 2 km long back and forth and starts at the Elistvere Animal Park. At the end of the study trail you will find the magical Lake Elistvere with an observation tower offering a great view to the flora surrounding the lake and animals running in the bushy greenery. The information boards at the road help the visitors and there are several observation platforms. The trail can be completed in a wheelchair and with a children's stroller as well.The study trail can be accessed only during the opening hours of the animal park. The animal park has an entrance fee.

Workshop «Baking home made bread»

In the Bread Room one can make their first attempts in baking homemade bread. The Wood Shop’s breadmaster will guide you through the process of the perfect bread dough, and show you all the good ingredients and the secret components to a well risen dough and delicious taste. In the end of the workshop the Bread Room is full of irritatingly good bread baking fragrance. And of course no one is leaving without tasting the outcome of this exciting workshop and you can also take the leaven to go, to keep up the new learned skill of breadmaking. And if later there’s a need for a bread basket, Avinurme Wood-Shop can offer exactly what you need.

Sepa Farm

Sepa Farm is a cosy cottage in Aakre village in Tartu County. Guests can use the entire house, which has a bedroom, a walk-through room, a spacious living room, and a kitchen. In total, the holiday house can accommodate 8 people. Guests are provided with clean bed linen and the kitchen is equipped with an oven, a fridge, a kettle, a coffee maker, and other necessary kitchen utensils. There is also a wood-burning grill on the terrace.Sepa Farm is an ideal holiday cottage for families with children: it is possible to feed animals on the farm, hike in the forest, go to the sauna, and pick berries and mushrooms.

Lake Pühajärv Park

Families with children are particularly welcome in the Lake Pühajärv Park as there are many opportunities to feed ducks and other birds when walking on the lakeshore. There is an exercise track by the northern part of the park. This is also the place where you will find the beach with a beach house, cafés, arbours and boat hire.The park used to be a part of the Pühajärv Manor Park and it was designed as a walking forest with paths already in the 19th century. The park is mainly a naturally grown forest.

Wood Ants’ Trail of Kiidjärve

Among the approximately 1 km study trail introducing the life of wood ants, the hiker can feel like a giant in the minuscule world of ants. In an area of 20 hectares there are 200 ant hills, the biggest of which is 1.7 m high; you can also admire the record-high spruce (42 m). The trail has signs, information boards, and bridges crossing ant highways.The trail is for walking only. While hiking on the trail near ant hills, use only the bridges installed there. The Laari forest study trail starts on the other side of the railway.The civilisation of ants offers an experience for both children and adults.

Ilmatsalu Motel

Ilmatsalu Motel, located in Ilmatsalu near Tartu, is the best place to stay for bird and nature lovers, as the accommodation is surrounded by a birdwatching tower, hiking and cycling trails, forests, bogs, and lakes. Tobrova Village Chapel

The small wooden Tobrova tsässon on the right side of the Tobrova-Küllätüvä road looks like a small barn with a modest cross on the roof. This Orthodox chapel built in 1932 is dedicated to Easter – the most important holiday in Tobrova and nearby villages. Behind the Tobrova tsässon is the Luikjärve farm fort: a well-preserved Seto farm with a closed courtyard, which has been restored by the Obinitsa Museum.Contact the Obinitsa Museum for more information about the tsässon and the farm.
