Tartu County Recreational Sports Centre – a winter adventure in Elva's pine forests. Located amidst the beautiful pine forests of Elva, Tartu County Recreational Sports Centre offers numerous opportunities for year-round active recreation. The center is home to the largest and most famous health trail, including the world-renowned Tartu Marathon ski trail, inviting sports and nature enthusiasts to enjoy active leisure time. During winter, visitors can enjoy well-maintained ski trails that start at the Tartu Marathon finish line. The total length of the ski trails on the Tartu Marathon route extends up to 63 km, with 800 meters of illuminated trails, allowing skiing even late in the evening. The ski trails are suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers. All necessary ski equipment, including rental and maintenance, is easily available at the Elva Ski Lab, located just a short drive away. Tartu County Recreational Sports Centre is an ideal place for an active winter holiday, offering sporting challenges, beautiful nature, and memorable winter experiences for every visitor.

Tartu Snow Park offers a total of eight hectares of sled and tube tracks – a true snow paradise. There are seven snow tube tracks at the Tartu Snow Park, all of which have different speeds and lengths and therefore, they are suitable for toddlers, teenagers, and adults. Come and spend some lovely time with family, friends, or by yourself. We also have a sledding slope where you can ride your sledge for free. Do not waste your day indoors. The Tõrva Health Trail winds through the scenic park forest surrounding Lake Vanamõisa, following paths through old-growth trees and lakeside woods. It connects Tõrva Gymnasium, the beach area of Lake Vanamõisa, and the gymnasium’s stadium complex. In 2017, it was recognized as the best health sports facility in Estonia. The main hiking loop is 11.1 km long. In winter, the park offers illuminated ski tracks of various lengths. Together with the Tõrva stadium, Tõrva Veemõnula water and sauna centre, outdoor gym, low ropes course, and disc golf track, the trail forms a well-rounded sports complex.

In summer you can hike on the Kääriku recreational trails and in winter you can ski along the hills and valleys of the Otepää Upland. All the skiing, running, cycling and hiking trails are signposted, so you will always find your way safely back to the starting point. There are three hiking trails - the Running Track (5 km), the Lakeside Circuit (2.3 km) and the Seinamägi Hill Circuit (4.6 km). The latter is of particular interest to extreme sports enthusiasts. The Kekkonen hiking trail is perfect for cycling, and you can also cycle along the quiet bicycle and pedestrian track between Kääriku and Lake Pühajärv. The nature trail connecting two cities runs along the banks of the Pedeli River. The asphalt trail is 5 km long. If you find yourself on a boardwalk in the middle of the path, you have already crossed the border. Take the time to climb the stairs to Pudrumägi hill, which offers a wonderful view of the twin cities! There is no rush here – there are children's playgrounds, outdoor gyms, a beach, a recreation area on the peninsula, and even dog parks by the trail. The tracks are perfect for walking, cycling, rollerblading, and skiing. Come and enjoy this beautiful city!

The diversity of sports facilities and beautiful nature bring active people to Kääriku throughout the year.Kääriku Sports Centre was established in 1947 as a study and training centre of the Department of Physical Education and Sport of the University of Tartu. Today, the modern sports centre has a ball hall, tennis and beach volleyball courts, athletics and football stadium, and ski and hiking trails. There is an outdoor swimming pool, the Kekkonen sauna and Green sauna, a sandy beach, and a children's playground by Lake Kääriku. We also offer accommodation, catering, and conference rooms all year round.

Otepää is known as the winter capital and the mecca of winter sports. From here, it's easy to go have fun at both Munakas, the Väike-Munamäe ski center, and Kuutsemäe. Lähte ski trails are located in Lähte small town, 15 km from Tartu.Ski trails are accessible 24 h for free. Lähte has four ski trails in varying lengths: 5 km, 2.5 km, 2 km and 1 km. During the winter, the ski trails are lit until 9 pm. You can also use a 1.25 km trail with artificial snow. Next to the trails, you find a watch tower. Showers are available in Lähte sports hall nearby.
