Basic wine training at Vilde ja Vine

Wine trainings are ideal for celebrating important events or just having fun with your friends.The basic wine training course and tasting introduces five wines, two of which are white and three are red. Our wine sommelier introduces the main grape varieties (sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, merlot, shiraz, and cabernet sauvignon), talks about the history of wine, and how to pair wine with food. Snacks are also offered.
After the training, you can enjoy our à la carte menu, which offers dishes for both meat lovers and vegetarians, as well as a variety of snacks and salads. You can also satisfy your sweet tooth with delicious desserts!

Mehikoorma footpath and beach promenade

In the area between Mehikoorma Port and the lighthouse, a circular footpath with three different solutions has been built at different heights, so that visitors could enjoy the charms of Lake Peipus and get acquainted with the natural environment there.The roads are arranged so that the user can travel approximately 1.3 kilometres continuously, starting and ending at the same place.The versatile trail includes raised wooden footpaths, low boardwalks on moist lakeside soils, and a paved cycle and pedestrian track next to the port water area. On broader platforms, it is possible to have a picnic or stay longer to observe the surrounding nature.

Turusild Bridge

The Turusild bridge connecting Tartu's outdoor market and Annelinn district was completed in 2003 and is meant only for pedestrians. You can also ride a bicycle or a small moped on the separated section. The length of the bridge is 251.5 metres and the hanging part is carried by seven pairs of stay wires. The height of the bridge from the water surface of the Emajõgi River is 7.5 metres.At the top of the bridge there is a 3.5 m high weather vane – a cog called Lennuk (Plane). The author of the weather vane is blacksmith Ivar Feldmann.The bridge was designed by OÜ Tartu Arhitektuuribüroo and K-Most, built by K-Most.In 2003, the bridge was awarded the title of the Deed of the Year by the citizens of the city of Tartu.

Ruins of Kirumpää Castle

The first written record about Kirumpää Castle is from 1322, when Gediminas, Grand Duke of Lithuania, destroyed it. The castle was built by the once important Tartu-Pihkva trade and war route, to protect the eastern border of the Tartu Bishopric. The castle has been attacked, destroyed and rebuilt many times and it was finally destroyed in the Russo-Swedish war in 1656.Useful information: Kirumpää Castle was surrounded by a large settlement of merchants and craftsmen. The layouts of the castle and the surrounding area are preserved in the Swedish National Archives. Stones from the castle's ruins were used to build Võru, which was established in 1784. Small-leaved lindens that grow around the ruins are from 1940.
