Otepää is a modern sports facility with a full-size sports hall and a sector for 200 spectators. You can play basketball, volleyball, tennis, football, table tennis and badminton in the sports hall and it also has an aerobics room and a gym. You can refresh yourself in our saunas and steam saunas. You can combine your workout with a business meeting as we also have a meeting room for 36 people. Otepää Sports Hall has also been used as the press centre during major events in Otepää.

The restaurant of Hotel Karupesa caters for both hotel guests and everyone else. The restaurant is located in the basement of Hotel Karupesa and has 66 seats. A terrace is also opened during the summer season. Guests can have barbeques in the arbour in the hotel’s backyard. There hotel offers several barbeque meals in summer in addition to the usual à la carte menu. We offer special menus to athletes and sports camps. Kristjan Jaak Peterson (14 March 1801 – 4 August 1822) was an Estonian writer who is considered to be the founder of Estonian national literature.He studied in the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy of the University of Tartu from 1819 to 1820. He called himself a singer of the country people, appreciated the national features of literature, and thought that the creation of original Estonian literature was possible.There is a bronze monument to him on Toomemägi, which was completed in 1983 by J. Soans and A. Murdmaa, and a high school named after him in Tartu.On the writer's birthday, 14 March, we celebrate Mother Tongue Day.Fun fact: Peterson walked from Tartu to Riga more than 200 years ago due to lack of money.

Sepa Farm is a cosy cottage in Aakre village in Tartu County. Guests can use the entire house, which has a bedroom, a walk-through room, a spacious living room, and a kitchen. In total, the holiday house can accommodate 8 people. Guests are provided with clean bed linen and the kitchen is equipped with an oven, a fridge, a kettle, a coffee maker, and other necessary kitchen utensils. There is also a wood-burning grill on the terrace.Sepa Farm is an ideal holiday cottage for families with children: it is possible to feed animals on the farm, hike in the forest, go to the sauna, and pick berries and mushrooms.

Come and discover the magic of blind embossing! Create your own embossed artwork in a unique printmaking workshop. Cut an image into a linoleum sheet and see how the play of shadow and light remains on the paper. Blind embossing is a printing technique where a linoleum block is printed without color, leaving only a relief mark on the paper. In the workshop, each participant will make a linoleum block (10x15 cm) according to their own design. The first stone church was constructed in Rõuge in the 16th century. In 1730, the original church, which was destroyed in the Great Northern War, was replaced with one which had an imposing square tower. The church was blessed in the name of St. Mary. The altar-piece "Christ on the cross" by R. von Mühlen is from 1854. In 1860 the walls were made higher and a mirrored arch was installed. In 1930 the church got a 31-register organ built by the Kriisa brothers. The first Estonian pastor in Rõuge was Rudolf Gottfried Kallas.Useful information! You can attend mass at the church every Sunday at 11:00 and in summer, the church is used as a wayfarers' church. Entrance to the tower is for a fee (grown ups 1.50, children 1 and family ticket 3 euros).
