Turusild Bridge

Tartu linn, Tartu maakond, 50603

The Turusild bridge connecting Tartu’s outdoor market and Annelinn district was completed in 2003 and is meant only for pedestrians. You can also ride a bicycle or a small moped on the separated section. The length of the bridge is 251.5 metres and the hanging part is carried by seven pairs of stay wires. The height of the bridge from the water surface of the Emajõgi River is 7.5 metres.At the top of the bridge there is a 3.5 m high weather vane – a cog called Lennuk (Plane). The author of the weather vane is blacksmith Ivar Feldmann.The bridge was designed by OÜ Tartu Arhitektuuribüroo and K-Most, built by K-Most.In 2003, the bridge was awarded the title of the Deed of the Year by the citizens of the city of Tartu.

Mooste Distillery Guesthouse

The guesthouse on the second floor of Mooste Distillery offers cosy rooms with all of the mod cons. The rooms are named after master distillers who worked at the factory. There are six rooms in the guesthouse and one mini-suite.The renovated historic distillery at Mooste Manor (1909) is home to the Estonian Photo Tourism Centre, which offers the use of a photo studio, photography courses and natures tours with a photographer. The distillery has a number of rooms that can be used for conferences, training courses, wedding and other events. Sauna and jacuzzi facilities are also available.

Väimela Manor and Park

Väimela Manor was first mentioned already in 1590, but the current main building is from 1952.The threshing building, distillery, farmhands' barn, farmhand's house, milking parlor, woodworking shop, granary and grain dryer, hay barn, barn and dairy have been preserved. Bernhard von Loewen was the last squire.Today, the manor is managed by the Võru County Vocational Training Centre. The manor park was established in the 18th century and there are mostly lindens, maples and oaks.Lakes Alajärv and Mäejärv in Väimela are connected with a stream. South of Lake Alajärv, in Matussaare, is the burial ground of squires of Väimela and the ruins of a chapel, that was built in 1885.You can only see the manor from outside.
