Kuutsemäe, the most attractive and compact mountain sports centre in Estonia, offers leisure opportunities during all seasons. By today, the centre has proved its sustainability, and since 1991, it has been the only mountain skiing and snowboarding centre in Estonia that operates without interruption. We start by meeting in the car park of the Sangaste castle by the yellow window of NG, and will continue from there by bus.The first part of the hike takes us through the Valli quaking swamp on bogshoes. From there, we are going to move closer to the forest park, take a look at the rare species of trees in the dendrological park and enjoy the views across the Juudaoru valley.There will be a picnic at a mystical campfire site.The hike ends in the castle park where you will learn about the history of the manor and rye up to the formation of the cooperation network of Rukkiküla. We will also test the famous echo effect of the castle.
The northern shore of Lake Kuremaa is home to the only beach in Jõgeva County manned by lifeguards. Here you will find a 250-metre stretch of golden sand, aquabikes and boat hire, a beachfront cafe, a playground, areas for ball games, a caravan park and more. You can also camp here. The swimming area is marked by buoys. The water temperature is measured constantly, with information provided on special stands.
An adventurous orienteering game Lost Fear will take you into a post-apocalyptic sci-fi and fantasy world. On the prepared course studded with wild nature, industrial, and military heritage surprises and adventures, you will experience startling moments filled with excitement and surprise and the sense of accomplishment from exceeding yourself.The duration of the game, depending on the pace of walking, is 2-4 hours; the distance is ca 6 km. It does not require special physical preparation and the game will take place at any time of the year with any type of weather. Number of participants upon agreement.Games with single tickets take place every two months on special events in Tartu and Tallinn region.

An attentive visitor might also spot the rare lake ball, a unique algae found in only a few places worldwide and in a few lakes in Estonia. To enrich your experience, you can book a guided rafting trip. The guide shares stories and legends related to Saadjärv, including folklore about Kalevipoeg and legends of the sunken church and a mint. A private raft trip is also suitable for smaller events and can be combined with catering services upon request. The Rõuge primeval valley, which is 10km long and 52m deep, contains seven lakes: Kahrila Lake, Tõugjärv, Ratasjärv, Kaussjärv, Rõuge Suurjärv, Liinjärv, and Valgjärv. The lakes are connected by the Rõuge or Ajo River, which starts from the Tindi valley. The side valleys of the Rõuge primeval valley are Tindi, Külm, Mõhk, Ööbikuorg, Tinopeetri, Hinni, Sikasoo, and Järveotsa valleys. The most famous of these is Ööbikuorg, which borders the ancient hillfort from the north. In spring, during the blossoming of bird cherry trees, the valley resonates with the song of nightingales – hence the name of the valley. Several hiking trails run through Rõuge, including the popular Ööbikuorg hiking trail, which takes visitors through the primeval valley, past lakes and springs. The trail is suitable for families with children and is partially accessible by bicycle. In summer, you can swim and paddle in the lakes, while in winter, the same trails are enjoyed by skiers and sledders. In the Rõuge settlement, there is also Estonia's deepest lake – Rõuge Suurjärv (38m) – and the largest Nature Clock in Estonia, whose hands mark the passage of time in nature's rhythm.Good to know: At the edge of Ööbikuorg, there is a visitor center and the Pesapuu observation tower, which offers a view of the entire valley.
The Taevaskoda (Heaven’s Halls) hiking trails offer experiences at every step, regardless of the season and weather. During the hike, we might see a kingfisher while the guide tells legends about the outcrops of Taevaskoda and helps participants recognise the places where the movie Viimne reliikvia was filmed. We will also discuss the relationship between nature and humans over the years. We will agree on the length and theme of the hike with the participants.
