In the summer of 2020, the Otepää Central Square and Flag Square dedicated to the Estonian tricolour got a new look. The Central Square is illustrated by Bruno Kadak's bronze sculpture – the fountain 'Fun Ott'.There is a well-known belief around the world that throwing a coin in a fountain brings happiness, but when coming to the Otepää fountain, you have to scratch the bear's rear paw.The Flag Square has one of the highest flagpoles in Estonia. Next to the Estonian flagstaff are pavilions and information stands telling the story of the flag. The community garden with a children's playground offers leisure opportunities for both adults and children.Come to Otepää!

Let's make delicious kama truffles together! Kama is often considered one of Estonia's national dishes. In the workshop, we roast kama flour, mix it with creamy filling and flavorful additions, and shape it into delightful balls. Then we decorate the kama truffles. Each participant can prepare 6 to 8 truffles to take home. A pleasant and flavorful experience for every participant! We recommend adding a guided tour or a walk in our yard at the Mulgi Experience Center. In the exhibition house, visitors are greeted with interactive solutions that introduce the culture and history of Mulgimaa in an engaging way. After the workshop, you can meet the center's friendly animals, visit the linen barn, and discover how linen fabric was made in the past. The Mulgi Experience Center opens the door to the essence of the Mulgi people and Mulgi cultural heritage. It is an ideal place to spend a pleasant time with friends or colleagues. Jõgewa Museum displays historical items that are mostly connected to the history of Jõgeva County; the general title of the exhibition is 'Jõgeva County's Local History 1900–1945'. A particularly interesting section of the exhibition features weapons used during WWII.Good to know: schools can organize history lessons on the museum premises.

As the name suggests, it is a museum that introduces means of communication and laptops. The Communication and Laptop Museum opened its doors on June 10, 2023. In the communications museum section, there is a switchboard with cords, a telephone exchange from 1969; main distribution frame; telephone sets; payphones + payphone booths; overhead lines; mail baskets; communication instruments. Large Elion-Microlink-EMT-Telia signs and logos that used to be on the buildings. Also over several hundred mobile phones, among them old NMT mobile devices, antennas, and a 13 m cell phone mast. In terms of computers, there are a few desktop computers and twenty laptops.You can make calls inside the museum with a dial phone.

A hike that combines physical activity, fresh air, and a sense of history!Come alone, bring a friend or all of them, and enjoy a scooter hike in the magnificent atmosphere of Setomaa in the landscapes and villages near Lake Lämmijärv. We will ride along the old lake bed, through pine forests, pass ancient settlements and burial mounds, until we reach a traditional well-preserved Seto residence.The hike starts and ends at the parking lot of the Mäe Nature House of the State Forest Management Centre. The Pilgrim House introduces visitors to everything related to medieval pilgrims and pilgrimages. Here you can get acquainted with various medieval holy places and pilgrimage destinations. One of them, the most famous in Northern Europe, was located right here in the Holy Cross Chapel of the Vastseliina Bishopric! Thanks to the interactive exhibit, visitors can experience firsthand what a medieval pilgrim felt, what he feared, and what he loved. You can play medieval board games, and with prior arrangements, we offer various experience packages, including period and themed meals prepared in the Pilgrim House oven to fill your stomach!
