Skating rink and skate rental at Lake Verevi

Lake Verevi, located in Elva, in the centre of the picturesque South Estonian pine forests, is a perfect holiday destination all year round because there is a skating rink open in the winter. It is also possible to sled near the lake!You can rent skates at Verevi Motel, located within walking distance. The motel also sells drinks and snacks.The skates are rented on the basis of an identity document during the opening hours of the motel. We have 20 pairs of skates for all ages.Before going on the ice, please pay attention to the ice conditions to make sure skating there will be safe.

Turusild Bridge

The Turusild bridge connecting Tartu's outdoor market and Annelinn district was completed in 2003 and is meant only for pedestrians. You can also ride a bicycle or a small moped on the separated section. The length of the bridge is 251.5 metres and the hanging part is carried by seven pairs of stay wires. The height of the bridge from the water surface of the Emajõgi River is 7.5 metres.At the top of the bridge there is a 3.5 m high weather vane – a cog called Lennuk (Plane). The author of the weather vane is blacksmith Ivar Feldmann.The bridge was designed by OÜ Tartu Arhitektuuribüroo and K-Most, built by K-Most.In 2003, the bridge was awarded the title of the Deed of the Year by the citizens of the city of Tartu.

Rebasmäe spring

The Rebasmäe spring (also known as Ilumetsa spring) is the largest floodwater spring in Võru County. You can take a boardwalk to the spring, but before you get on the trail, you have to descend into a shallow valley on the long staircase and cross the bridge over the Rebasmäe stream. The trail ends at the spring. The spring water is very clean but contains iron compounds, giving it a distinctive taste and reddish color. It's definitely worth tasting the water. The approximately meter-deep surface of the spring is crystal clear like a mirror, where you can see the bubbling water flow. The spring is surrounded by ancient forest, which has been under nature protection since 1981. Silence, birdsong, and the sound of water create a mysterious atmosphere, enhanced by lush mosses and forest plants giving it a jungle-like appearance. Near the spring on the stream's bank is the RMK Rebasmäe forest hut, where you can rest, make a campfire, or, if desired, camp and stay overnight. Valgesoo watchtower

The Valgesoo watchtower is located in the Valgesoo bog, which represents one of the 21 places worth discovering in South Estonia and is recommended for all nature enthusiasts.With its eye-catching design, the watchtower overlooks the Valgesoo bog, the pristine-looking primeval forest, and the Baron's pine forest (Parunimännik) and the study trail that runs through it. The 29.7 m high metal watchtower has three intermediate platforms, the last of which is 23.8 m high, with a wind screen and seat benches in the centre. The State Forest Management Centre's campfire site and camping area for up to five tents are nearby.

Pähni Nature Centre

Pähni Nature Centre is the central point of Haanja-Karula Recreation Area that belongs to the State Forest Management Centre (RMK). In the Pähni Nature Centre you are invited to visit the forest museum, use the library, take a look at the exhibition of postcards depicting forest and get further information on the recreation possibilities provided by the RMK. There is a rest area near Pähni Nature Centre, where you can camp and barbeque, have a picnic or take a swim in summer.

Tõrva health trails

The Tõrva Health Trail winds through the scenic park forest surrounding Lake Vanamõisa, following paths through old-growth trees and lakeside woods. It connects Tõrva Gymnasium, the beach area of Lake Vanamõisa, and the gymnasium’s stadium complex. In 2017, it was recognized as the best health sports facility in Estonia. The main hiking loop is 11.1 km long. In winter, the park offers illuminated ski tracks of various lengths. Together with the Tõrva stadium, Tõrva Veemõnula water and sauna centre, outdoor gym, low ropes course, and disc golf track, the trail forms a well-rounded sports complex.
