The A. Le Coq Beer Museum lets you see, hear, and taste the story of beer. You'll learn brewing history from ancient Egypt to the present day. The museum displays the ingredients needed to brew beer, describes the brewing process, and exhibits old production facilities. The heart of the museum is the historic malt tower, where the exciting 200-year history of A. Le Coq unfolds. At the end of the visit, you can enjoy a cold beer or lemonade at the museum's bar and peruse the gift shop. You can visit the museum on your own or with a guide.
The restaurant does not have a fixed menu. We prepare our food using fresh seasonal products, which is preferably of local origin. We have been influenced by Estonian and European cuisine, but you will also find subtle hints to cuisines from further corners of the world. We offer boat rental in Varnja village, which is located on the shore of Lake Peipus. Lake Peipus is one of the largest lakes in Europe and it is the favourite lake of many fishermen all year round.You can rent both motorboats and rowboats from us. The selection includes various boat models: Cursus440, Progress-4, Voronez, and Kasse. All these are suitable for managing the waves of Lake Peipus.In order to rent a boat you do not have to be interested in only fishing. A beautiful summer weather is especially enjoyable while sailing on water, either by exploring the villages of Old Believers along the shore, sailing to the River Emajõgi located 3 km away or by exploring streams which connect the swamp with Lake Peipus and the River Emajõgi.
Carl Schmidt's House is located in Central Estonia, right in the heart of Põltsamaa, where everything you need is within reach. This means you don't have to worry too much about packing your travel bag. In this old house, not everything is like in a modern glass hotel. It is a historic hotel where you can smell the wood, the walls breathe, grandma's lace doilies adorn the tables, ventilation systems don't hum, and sometimes the walls talk instead... It has been a post office, a secondary school, a hospital, and in the 1960s, it was also a hotel. On the first floor, a cozy café-restaurant, a reception desk, and a hair salon await you. On the second and third floors, there are rooms in three price categories. Additionally, the complex includes the Hullava Naise Pub next to the guesthouse. The unique name and the surrounding imagination are topics of conversation among locals. The pub's menu offers homemade dishes, including daily specials and soups that satisfy even the biggest appetite. Visit Põltsamaa, the pearl of Livonia — a town of history, roses, and wine!
Meteorite craters are rare around the world. In Ilumetsa in Võru County, however, there is a group of craters formed from meteorite impacts which the locals call 'Hell’s Grave', 'Deep Grave', 'The Devil’s Grave', and 'Ghost’s Grave' (the latter three of which are overgrown and not marked).The biggest of the craters, which was formed around 6,600 years ago, is 'Hell’s Grave'; it is up to 80 metres in diameter at its widest point, and 12.5 metres deep. The floor of the crater is covered in a 2.5 metre layer of peat. Hikers can find their way to the crater along a well-maintained boardwalk, passing intriguing wooden sculptures as they go. There is a forest hut with information boards at the mid-point of the trail.
The Kooraste cycling trail runs along gravel roads in beautiful pine forests. There are several beautiful lakes and rivers along the trail. The trail is equipped with signs, but a map is required to complete the trail, which can be obtained from the Kiidjärve Visitor Centre or printed from here. The start and end of the trail is at RMK Erastvere office.You can make a fire at the Kooraste Suurjärv, Kooraste Kõverjärv, and Vähkjärv campfire sites on the trail.
