Peipsimaa museum

The museum is housed in Betti Alver’s home next to the Jõgeva railway station.The museum gives an overview of Betti Alver’s life and works, also perpetuates the memory of Alo Mattiisen and acquaints visitors with the historic and cultural heritage of Jõgeva.

We are a small family business in Võru County, between the hills of Haanja and near the beautiful Lake Alajärv. Our organic farm grows sea-buckthorn and grapes on Servamägi Hill (222 meters high). We make berry and fruit wines from our own and other local raw ingredients. We offer a year-round educational ‘wine tour’, during which we will explore the secrets of wine-making and then, taste three wines with snacks. During the summer season from May to October, we will go on a tour on the berry field. We will also hold a fun quiz on wines. There is a farm shop.

The 19th-century Tartu Citizen's Home Museum is located in one of the most unique areas of Tartu's Old Town, close to St. John's Church. The museum is housed in a wooden building completed in the 1740s, making it one of the oldest surviving residential houses in Tartu. With its historical ambiance and meticulously restored interior, the building takes visitors back to the early 19th century, when Tartu was a vibrant city of wealthy citizens and craftsmen. At the museum, you can learn more about the daily lives of urban citizens in the 1830s. Various rooms, furnished in the German Biedermeier style typical of the era, can be seen. The cozy, authentic atmosphere offers an opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of everyday life in a 19th-century Tartu home. During the summer season, a small garden is open, where plants and flowers of the period thrive, offering a glimpse of what urban greenery might have looked like almost two centuries ago. It is possible to participate in guided, thematic tours and educational programs.

Many birds and animals await you at "Talu ja loomad" (Farm and Animals) hobby farm, located in Kulli village in Tartu County! At the farm you can see various birds: chickens, the world's smallest seramas, ducks, turkeys, and geese. Additionally, the farm has goats, sheep, rabbits, chinchillas, hedgehogs, and a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig. You can meet about 300 animals and birds at the farm. Come with family and spend your time with lovely and unique birds and animals!

Anderson Brewery in Tartu is a recognized craft beer producer whose flavorful, distinctive beers have garnered significant attention from locals and visitors alike. The brewery's shop offers a wide selection of craft beer, as well as non-alcoholic drinks and lemonades, which are perfect for those arriving by car. Visitors can take comprehensive beer and grill courses and exciting factory tours, where they learn about the brewing process and sample at least eight beers. The courses cover both the making of beer and suitable pairings. As an add-on, you can book a sauna, ideal for small groups, circles of friends, and companies seeking a pleasant, unique place to spend time. Peipsiveere Samovar House is a small museum in the Old Believers' village of Varnja that introduces visitors to the world of samovars and tea culture along Lake Peipsi. The private collection, accumulated over decades, contains more than 200 diverse samovars. From simple tin samovars to rare ones with elaborate engravings, reflecting the skills and traditions of masters from different eras. The exhibition, located in an authentic Old Believers' house, offers visitors insight into why the samovar was more than just a kettle for centuries. Stories reveal the origins of samovars, manufacturing techniques, usage methods, different design types, and tea-drinking traditions in the communities along the lake. Every guest can taste genuine samovar tea and the famous Ivan chai, and try traditional boiled sugar with the tea, an integral part of Old Believers' tea culture. If desired, one can also explore handmade samovar accessories and hear stories from the hostess of Mesi Tare about preparing, serving, and respectfully preserving tea.

The 24 h raft hike a versatile adventure, which is suitable for both company events and gatherings of friends.The raft hike begins and ends at the Kavastu village harbour, next to the Kavastu ferry. After a light meal and raft training, the adventure begins. On rafts, we take an 18–24 km journey until reaching the raft house on the River Kalli, where you will have dinner and can enjoy a sauna to gather energy for the return trip the following morning. The tour ends at Kavastu harbour.

The Mõniste Museum is the oldest open-air museum in Estonia; here you can light a fire in a Stone Age tepee or practice archery, slinging or lassoing. You can also learn how to make bone and earthenware objects, weave fishing nets and fabric, grind grain or bake a loaf of Stone Age bread. The threshing barn dating back to Czarist times features the interior of the 19th century building, tools, household utensils and clothing. The farmhouse from the times of the first Republic of Estonia exhibits the tools that blacksmiths used, horse necessaries, handicraft tools, national costumes, folk music instruments, etc. You can also try what farm works felt like at that time.
