The University of Tartu's main building is a truly remarkable and historically significant structure located in Tartu's Old Town. The building was designed by the university's architect, Johann Wilhelm Krause, and constructed between 1804 and 1809. It was inaugurated with a ceremonial event on July 3, 1809, and since then, it has been the central venue for the university, hosting all important celebrations, scientific and cultural events, and gatherings of the academic community. The main building's classical architecture, with its columned facade and dignified interior, has shaped Tartu as a university town. The main building houses the White Hall, where concerts, conferences, and ceremonial events take place. Another special attraction is the student prison in the attic, which offers an intriguing insight into the strict rules of 19th-century student life. Visitors can also explore the University of Tartu Art Museum in the main building. The Meremäe Viewing Tower is located between Meremäe village and Vastseliina Castle on Meremäe Hill (204 m). Based on its name, one might think that the sea might be visible from the tower. However, the sea, as we know it today, is about 250 km from here, though Lake Pskov – which is not visible on the opposite side, and which was probably also called a sea in the old days – is just 40 km away. In fine weather, the domes of the churches of the Pskov-Caves Monastery in Pechory can be seen from the tower. The wide view of Setomaa's fields and forests is amazingly beautiful in every season, regardless of the weather. Fifteen people can climb the viewing tower at a time.

In the workshop, we roast kama flour, mix it with creamy filling and flavorful additions, and shape it into delightful balls. Then we decorate the kama truffles. Each participant can prepare 6 to 8 truffles to take home. A pleasant and flavorful experience for every participant! We recommend adding a guided tour or a walk in our yard at the Mulgi Experience Center. In the exhibition house, visitors are greeted with interactive solutions that introduce the culture and history of Mulgimaa in an engaging way. After the workshop, you can meet the center's friendly animals, visit the linen barn, and discover how linen fabric was made in the past.
