Humal Bistro is a diner in central Tartu inspired by French food culture. Bistro design and French food culture are the keywords that have inspired us when compiling the menu, and they are also the beliefs we follow every day in the kitchen, service, and atmosphere. At our small but authentic Kolkja Fish and Onion Restaurant, we offer genuine Old Believer dishes from the Peipsi region, prepared with freshly caught lake fish and locally grown, world-famous Peipsi onions. The dishes are based on traditional recipes passed down through generations, reflecting the unique culinary culture of the Peipsi lakeshore area. The menu features smoked fish, richly flavored fish soup, hearty onion soup, juicy fish patties, and a variety of desserts, including traditional Old Believer pies. Restaurant Wagenküll offers modern comfort in a historic atmosphere, as well as a view of the beautiful castle park. We have an open kitchen, which means the dishes are prepared before your very eyes – the signature dishes of Wagenküll are cooked in a Josper charcoal oven and all year round, we use as much raw ingredients from the forests and farms of southern Estonia as possible. Tasty food and good service are one of the key factors for a great holiday and a successful business trip. The menu is modern but also includes historical dishes characteristic of the castle.
