Vastseliina Castle is a place worth discovering in South Estonia — with 14th-century castle ruins, a sacred site, interactive activities, and interesting history. Vastseliina Castle Tavern is located in the former stable room of the historic Piiri Tavern, and the castle kitchen prepares medieval dishes inspired by historical recipes and festive table customs. The tavern is open daily during the summer months. In the autumn-winter season, guests can enjoy a rich medieval-inspired feast or more modest festive dishes by pre-order. All offered meals are prepared on-site in the castle kitchen, and the kitchen staff prefers to use as much local seasonal produce as possible. The tavern can also set up a welcome and coffee table if needed. Feasts are welcome for groups consisting of at least 20 and no more than 60 guests. In addition to the feast, you can order a castle tour or a suitable workshop. The castle staff requests that you inform them of your intention to visit at least five working days in advance.

In the Local Heritage Cafe of Juulamõis, we offer workshops for groups who want to immerse themselves in the secrets of the plant world. Together, we make mustards and herbal salts, perform herbal tea rituals, and discover the power of nature.In the workshop, we will learn about edible plants depending on the seasons, discuss their beneficial effects on health, share tips and recipes, and set a snack table for the whole group. Estonian nature is rich in plants full of power: it is important to notice them, know how to use them with gratitude, eat them, and offer them to our friends!

The Musta Kõutsi Tavern in Tõrva offers a new menu every day - fresh salads, hot dishes, cakes, desserts and of course pancakes! Those who want to try Mulgimaa flavours will find traditional Mulgi dishes here: potato and groat porridge, buns with various fillings, and soda bread. The tavern with a comfy interior is located just a few hundred meters from the centre of Tõrva. The tavern can accommodate up to 100 guests - 60 on the first floor and 40 in the the second floor hall. If you want to enjoy both traditional and new flavours of Southern Estonia in a cosy and friendly environment, you have come to the right place. We use Sangaste rye flour in our dishes, which is ground in the mill of Loona Farm in Võrumaa.Rukki Restaurant is located in the Sangaste Rye House, where there are also 12 comfortable and romantic guest rooms and a grocery store where you can buy goods from the local producers of Sangaste and South Estonia.We look forward to seeing you!
