Veski Pub

Veski Pub in Antsla is a great place to have a meal in north-western Võru County. The cosy pub offers delicious dishes, and there is a different daily menu from Monday to Friday. You can buy our home-baked bread or make use of our courtyard to barbecue or for the kids to enjoy themselves in the playground. Fantastic rafting trip on the Ahja River

The trip is suitable for groups of friends, families and schoolchildren. The slow waters of the winding river flow by large pine trees and ferns growing on the banks, steep sandstone outcrops covered in forest and caves.This area is the birthplace of many a folk legend – about underground castles, Devil's mills, virgins weaving fabric in deep caves, forest elves wondering about the river and water nymphs sitting on large rocks.Duration of the trip: 1.5-2 hoursWe have a raft for 7-8 persons and another for 9-10.Minimum size of the group: 6-7 peopleThe trip begins at Kiidjärve Nature Centre and ends at the dam of the Taevaskoda hydroelectric power station. After the trip, you can have a picnic by the river.

RMK Palojärve camping area

Palojärve camping area is a great place for a forest and beach holiday in a beautiful berry and mushroom pine forest on the shore of Lake Palojärv.There are seven covered campfire sites with benches and tree sheds, a roofed table-bench, a toilet for eight people and a toilet for one person, two wood sheds (it is possible to sleep in one of them), two changing cabins, and a swimming pier in Lake Palojärv.In summer, it is often crowded, but the large parking lot can accommodate 30 cars and the two smaller parking lots can accommodate five cars.

The steam engine monument

The year 1886 when the plan to build the Pihkva-Riga railway with a branch from Valga to Tartu became a crucial year in the development of the little town.The steam engine monument erected near the Valga railway station in 1998 celebrates the 110th anniversary of the Pihkva-Valga-Riga rail connection. Engine SU 251-98 was built in the Sormovo Shipyard in 1949. Interesting facts: * the engine weighs 87 tons and its output is 12 tons of steam per hour; * Riga-Pihkva railway was officially opened on 22 July 1889 in Pihkva.

Cafe Johanna dates back to 2016 when we took part in the Home Cafes Day. The positive feedback from the visitors made the host so happy that they decided to offer taste experiences more than once a year.Cafe Johanna offers a variety of flavours: morning coffee with delicious pastry, with a selection of the best rolled biscuit in town, wind pockets and eclairs, and of course, Pavlova cakes. Genialists’ Club

A building for Tartu’s subculture, a meeting place and party venue for special and open people – Genialists’ Club connects theatre, music, cinema, and joy. There is no elite culture, mass culture, or non-culture. There is only that which touches you and that which does not. There are ideas. There is tolerance. There is openness.You, too, can be in the club! However, we will not make you if you do not like it. Not everybody likes it here.The building is also home to the radio station Generaadio, the theatre Must Kast, the bar MÖKU, the record shop Gramophonetree Records and the New Yard. Peipsimaa museum

The Peipsi County Museum introduces the life of the Old Believers, the kitchen and church culture, and the life and work of the world-famous icon painter Pimen Sofronov from the local village of Tiheda. Samovars, "podrushniks", icons, "lestovkas" are worth seeing. You can buy souvenirs and handicrafts related to the culture and nature of Peipsi, as well as sweets, tea mixtures and other local products. A guided tour introducing the Old Believers and the Ivan Chai tea ceremony can be booked in advance. With a museum ticket, you can also visit the Peipsi Järve Elu room with a permanent exhibition located next door.
