The Põltsamaa Technical Sports Club developed the Piiroja rallycross course and the complex attached to it: maintenance and recreation areas, a building for referees, open air recreation areas, an ATV course and more. The club has been organising the Estonian championships in the sport since 2008, as well as supercross cup events and ice course competitions. It was also behind the Piiroja Village Sprint series.
Toretalu Farm awaits guests to solve the game hidden in the corn jungle and take part in other activities put up at the yard that test their cleverness and skills.In the corn labyrinth you have to find six check points with a map. The corn has grown to the size of a person, there are many converging paths in the jungle and finally you have to find the exit. Are you ready for the test?
In the former tavern building by the Piusa River, the Vasekoja Guesthouse on the second floor offers comfortable rooms (2 triple and 2 quadruple), shower rooms, and a relaxation and kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, and kettle. Outdoors, you can use the shelter and grill. For children, there is a playground with swings, a sandbox, a climbing track, and a volleyball court. You can take a trip on the Piusa primeval valley hiking trail and visit the sights of Võrumaa and Setomaa. The Valga/Valka–Ape narrow gauge railway was opened to traffic in 1900 and the last trains ran here in 1970.Today, most of the old railway embankment is used as a hiking trail that runs through forests and fields on gravel and dirt roads.On the Valka–Žuldin and Koikküla–Hargla section, the trail is redirected to larger roads, because the former railway dam is mostly impassable there.Many old railway photographs and historical stories related to the railway have been attached to the old sleepers on the railway dam.There is a resting place in Hargla.
The Tamme-Lauri oak is Estonia's largest oak tree. It has a circumference of 8 m (measured at a height of 130 cm) and is approximately 800 years old. The trunk has been filled with reinforced concrete. The Tamme-Lauri oak was named after Laurits, the god of fire, who was said to live in the oak and bring misfortune, but also sometimes good to the surrounding farms. The farm located near the oak is also known as Tamme-Lauri. The Tamme-Lauri oak was featured on the back of the Estonian ten kroon banknote. Signs leading to the site of the oak tree are found along the Urvaste-Kanepi highway.
