This question is answered by Mesi Tare's host, Marko, who takes guests on a walking tour through the historic village of Varnja. This is not a regular excursion but a personal, direct experience in which the village, its people, and their stories unfold through the eyes of a local resident. Marko has been connected to Peipsiveere all his life, and his stories are based on real experiences. He has worked as a border guard, been a fisherman and boat captain, and today he operates as a tourism entrepreneur. During the tour, Marko discusses the customs, architecture, and lifestyle of the Old Believers, as well as the importance of Lake Peipus for the local community. Walking tours are arranged by prior reservation and tailored to visitors' interests and schedules. In addition to Varnja village, you can explore Kolkja village and Kallaste town, each with its own character and story. If desired, the tour can be combined with a visit to the Varnja Samovar House.

The Kodavere Heritage Center in Tartu County breathes new life into the historical Pala Town Hall, which has been the heart of the local community for years. Visitors can gain a comprehensive overview of the history of Kodavere parish municipalities and town halls, and view the intriguing photo exhibition "People of Kodavere Parish in Oskar Tõrva's Glass Negatives," which reveals the everyday and festive life of rural areas a century ago. The museum is located at the historical Ülenurme Manor and introduces the development of the Estonian agriculture and rural life.In addition to exhibitions, museum visitors can participate in museum classes meant for children and adults, participate in master classes or cooking workshops, enjoy the nice surroundings and meet farm animals. The museum ponies take children for a ride. There are several traditional, but also innovative family events at the museum.It is possible to rent the museum's rooms and territory for events.

The winter charm of Lake Peipsi is best experienced on an adventurous ride across the ice with a karakat, offered by Mesi Tare. Karakats are locally built machines created by Peipsi fishermen, equipped with large airplane tires that ensure safe, stable movement on the frozen lake. The ride lasts about an hour and includes stops where Peipsi fishermen's tools, techniques, and methods for catching fish from ice holes are introduced. Additionally, information is shared about local life, Old Believers' traditions, and what makes karakats special. A ride in a karakat offers the chance to experience the ice of Estonia's largest lake and expansive winter views that will be long remembered. Services are provided only when ice conditions are suitable and with the permission of the Police and Border Guard Board to ensure a safe and memorable experience. It is also possible to order rides for larger groups, company winter days, or children's birthdays, making the experience even more special. Meenikunno Bog is one of the most exciting and unique bog landscapes in Southern Estonia, where nature is constantly changing. This young bog has not formed through the overgrowth of a lake, but through the swampification of land — the bog seems to "hang in the air," offering a rare opportunity to feel the ground sway beneath your feet during a bog hike. A 2-3 hour bog hike (up to 5 km) is suitable for beginners, nature enthusiasts, and families with older children. The length of the hike is adjusted to the group's wishes, and an experienced guide introduces the bog's formation, folklore, and the area's biodiversity. Along the way, you may encounter cranes, swans, or even capercaillies. It is an ideal destination for those seeking peace, adventure, and authentic Estonian nature. Guided bog hikes take place year-round; in winter, Meenikunno offers white expanses, enjoyable views, and easy movement; in early summer, a sea of blooming plants; and in autumn, a bubbling play of colors. Bog hikes can also be ordered as a lantern hike. End the hike with a catered meal by the campfire!

The barge Jõmmu is a traditional wooden merchant sailing ship, the only one of its kind to have been restored. Step aboard and sail on a historic ship and enjoy the beauty of Emajõe-Peipsi's nature and views of the city of Tartu! Barge trips can be booked for larger groups for seminars, birthdays, or other special events. Smaller groups are welcome on scheduled trips.
