The unique Gardest Home and Garden Centre, which is the largest garden centre in the Baltics, offers a wide range of outdoor and indoor plants, seasonal plants, tools, interior products, pet products, and gourmet goods. During the winter period, the centre turns into a beautiful winter wonderland.Here, you will also find the Muru restaurant, which offers a healthy menu and daily specials. Hotel Aleksandri awaits you on Aleksandri tänav in the heart of Tartu, a 15-minute walk from the Old Town. We offer rooms of different sizes and price classes on three floors. Guests can park their car in the car park in the courtyard.The Aura Waterpark, the AHHAA Science Centre, the Vanemuine Theatre, and several shopping and entertainment centres are in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Põltsamaa Castle has been an important site throughout the centuries and carries a distinguished history – founded in 1272 on the riverbank, it was the residence of Magnus, the King of Livonia, and later evolved into a magnificent Rococo palace. Wars and fires left the castle in ruins, but now it has come back to life and is waiting for you to visit! Today, the castle offers visitors plenty of excitement. First and foremost, it is worth climbing to the viewing platform of the seven-story castle tower, where a captivating view of the city unfolds in every season. The tower is crowned by a restored historical dome, which is unique in all of Estonia. The church, located within the complex, is built directly into the castle's fortification walls and tower, and is open daily during the summer. The convent and gatehouse feature a modern exhibition that tells the colorful story of the castle and the town of Põltsamaa. In the castle courtyard, craft workshops await, where you can watch the work of masters or purchase something interesting yourself. The Murimäe Wine Cellar in Valga County also offers its guests a cosy and exclusive guest apartment with all the comforts and a sauna where you can wake up to a beautiful view of the South Estonian hill country!
