The Valga/Valka–Ape narrow gauge railway was opened to traffic in 1900 and the last trains ran here in 1970.Today, most of the old railway embankment is used as a hiking trail that runs through forests and fields on gravel and dirt roads.On the Valka–Žuldin and Koikküla–Hargla section, the trail is redirected to larger roads, because the former railway dam is mostly impassable there.Many old railway photographs and historical stories related to the railway have been attached to the old sleepers on the railway dam.There is a resting place in Hargla.

The Peipsi County Museum introduces the life of the Old Believers, the kitchen and church culture, and the life and work of the world-famous icon painter Pimen Sofronov from the local village of Tiheda. Samovars, "podrushniks", icons, "lestovkas" are worth seeing. You can buy souvenirs and handicrafts related to the culture and nature of Peipsi, as well as sweets, tea mixtures and other local products. A guided tour introducing the Old Believers and the Ivan Chai tea ceremony can be booked in advance. With a museum ticket, you can also visit the Peipsi Järve Elu room with a permanent exhibition located next door.

Kuutsemäe Resort is 14 km from the centre of Otepää. It is the perfect place for a relaxing break or an active holiday, all year round. We will ride along the old lake bed, through pine forests, pass ancient settlements and burial mounds, until we reach a traditional well-preserved Seto residence.The hike starts and ends at the parking lot of the Mäe Nature House of the State Forest Management Centre. A scooter: interesting, attractive and definitely worth a try! Our scooters are modern, lightweight, thoughtfully designed and perfect for use on cross-country trails. The hiking trail, winding through the diverse landscape, is peppered with many picturesque sights including the Small and Big Taevaskoda, the Ahja River, Otten Stone Bridge, shooting locations of the hit movie "Viimne reliikvia" (The Last Relic), accompanied by bird songs and whispers of the forest. When exploring the nature on a scooter, you will forget your everyday problems and experience the full beauty and tranquility of nature.This hike, led by a guide, lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This winter, a skating rink of almost 1,000 square metres will be erected around the Kissing Students fountain on the Town Hall Square, where the most romantic and fun winter entertainment – skating – can be enjoyed under the starry sky.The skating rink can be used free of charge, and both young and old guests can rent skates from the pavilion in the immediate vicinity of the rink on the basis of a price list. You can buy a hot drink and snacks from the cafe .Grab a friend and come and have a good time in the fresh air right in the heart of Tartu!

The central square of Elva is closely connected to Lake Arbi, the nature trail that winds around it, the beach, and the beachside recreation area. The central square of Elva and the beach promenade are the heart of the town – green, peaceful places where the lakeside hustle and the natural atmosphere create a true summer or winter vibe. Along the promenade, visitors can find a platform with a fountain, sun loungers, a café, hammocks, table tennis, currant bushes, outdoor chess, a playground, a sports area, and a skatepark – everything for an enjoyable time for adults, children, and family pets. Various fairs and concerts are regularly held in the central square, and everyone can explore the outdoor gallery and enjoy free exhibitions at the Elva cultural center. Nearby are Leopold Hansen Alley, several cafés and restaurants, and the historic Elva station building, which also houses the region's tourism and visitor center.

The one-storey stone manor was built in the first half of the 19th century. The buildings of Ropka Manor are located on both sides of the street of Ropka tee. Preserved manor buildings include the farm hand's house, cattle barn, converted stables and a barn, a cellar and a park. There were three ponds in the park and it is planned to restore one of them. There was an orchard with a regular plan on the western side of the servants' house, which is now a built-up area.The building is in private ownership and can only be viewed from the outside.
