Bogshoe hikes in Valgesoo bog

Valgesoo is the smallest but the most fascinating bog in Põlva County; it conceals tiny bog islands, colonies of ants and hiding places of animals. The hike takes place in a nature reserve. In order to protect the surface of the bog, we are going to use bogshoes for hiking. The hike is led by an experienced guide. The route is exciting – it begins in a sandy pine grove, trails across a watery swamp to a raised bog and to the gigantic ant hills of a wood ant colony in an old fir grove. We are going to come back through a low pine forest growing in the bog and cross animal trails on the way. Your guide will talk about the mysterious nature of swamps, folk tales and the fascinating life of bog plants and bugs. If we're lucky, we'll be able to snack on cranberries. You can also have a picnic. Minimum size of the group - 4 people.

Andre Cheese Farm

How does the robotic milking machine work and how is milk turned into cheese? How is the world's best Estonian cheese made? Find out in Andre Farm on the border of Tartu County. Visitors can also feed the cows, pet the calves, and taste the products in our farm shop. There are 180 dairy cows and as many calves in the farm. The farm has been operating here since 1999, but our history dates back even further than that. The grandfather of the current host used to have a farm here. Innovation is in our blood – animals were watered with automatic systems and the latest agricultural techniques were used on the field to improve productivity as early as during Estonia's first independence.

Visit to Murimäe Winery and Vineyard

The secret to good wine lies in Murimäe — local ingredients, well-chosen grape varieties, a sunny slope near Otepää, and a northern climate — but what else? Located in South Estonia, near Otepää, Murimäe Winery gladly welcomes visitors. Our hostess takes guests on a walk to an authentic vineyard, shows them the production rooms, and explains how high-quality Estonian handcrafted wine is made in the wine cellar. At the end of the tour, we offer Murimäe wines for tasting, and those interested can purchase wine to take home. The visit takes place both outdoors and indoors and lasts 1.5-2 hours. Available by pre-order, even daily. You can also come with a group just to taste our wines. We organize various training courses and adventurous team activities, and you can also stay overnight. In summer, a café operates in Murimäe, and several special events with exciting performers, good food, and, of course, Murimäe wines take place. Come and discover Europe's northernmost vineyard for yourself!
