Meenikunno hiking trail

You'll need several people to measure the circumference of the ancient, nearly 400-year-old oak tree towering nearby Lake Pühajärv in Otepää! The trunk of this ancient tree has a circumference of 6.6 meters. It is called the War Oak because it has witnessed many historical events. Apparently, peasants of the Pühajärv Manor refused to work for the manor in autumn 1841 and the rebels were punished near the oak. The Pühajärve War was one of the first peasant uprisings against the landlords in Estonia, and in memory of it, an oak tree was planted nearby, where a memorial stone was erected on the 130th anniversary of the uprising. A beautiful park with walking tracks surrounds the tree today, and although the ancient tree is no longer in its full glory, it stands here to its full dignity, recalling times gone by.

Metsjärve camping houses are located in Põlva County, Puskaru village, in a beautiful pine forest and by a beautiful lake. The historic Postal Road and the Road Museum are in our immediate vicinity.The camping houses are heated and offer year-round accommodation. Our cosy camping houses accommodate four people, but there is room for up to three extra beds. Each camping house has a private barbecue area and some also have a mini kitchen.In summer, for a fee, you can ride a wakeboard or tube at Wakepark. Seto Glamping is a luxurious tent with amenities located in the most beautiful place in Setomaa – the picturesque garden of Anzelika Organic Farm, where you can enjoy a romantic getaway in any season!Glamping is open to everyone who appreciates closeness to nature but also enjoys comfort. The tent features a wide bed, warmth from a fireplace, and blankets. The tent is equipped with everything necessary, including a large bed, bed linen, blankets, pillows, and a fireplace. Outdoors, there is a grill, tables, and benches. For cozy evenings, the tent is adorned with candles and lanterns.

Toomemäe Park, a natural hill with a rich history, is one of the favorite places for Tartu residents to enjoy greenery without leaving the city. In the cathedral located here, you can visit the University of Tartu Museum, which provides an overview of the university's history and scientific research, and enjoy the views from the towers' observation platforms. While walking in the romantic English-style park, don't miss the beautiful Angel Bridge with its twin Devil's Bridge, statues, outdoor exhibitions, and university buildings, such as the observatory and the old anatomical museum. The park is accessible with a stroller, there is a playground for toddlers and a sports park for more active visitors.

Kisejärve hiking trail is 6 km long and runs along former horse roads and swamp borders (rubber boots are recommended). The hiking trails takes you past several lakes, valuable nature and bog communities and you can also see the results of the activities of beavers.

The Kääriku Sports Centre Hostel was completed in 2017. The building has eight double rooms with all comforts (so-called coaches’ room) and 33 four-bed rooms with bunk beds. There is a rest room with a TV and a PS4 in each of the four wings of the building. Check-in takes place at the reception of Kääriku Hotel, where guests receive personal door cards or wristbands. Kääriku Sports Centre offers many activities in summer and in winter (skiing, hiking, cycling). There is a playground for children. You can also play tennis and other ball games, swim, camp, and grill.Come to Kääriku!

Jõesuu Home Accommodation is located in the southern end of Lake Võrtsjärv in a private, scenic location by the Purtsi River. The first floor of the house has accommodation rooms of different sizes and comfort levels, a kitchen, and a fireplace hall. There are two bedrooms on the second floor of the sauna house with a fireplace room. In front of the house there is a terrace open to the evening sun and a campfire site by the river with shelter. The place is ideal for organising a small party or a group event.The waterway connection to the Little Emajõgi and Lake Võrtsjärv attracts fishermen and nature lovers. We rent a boat and canoes. Udu Farm is a lovely holiday complex on the shores of Lake Kuremaa. The historical Palamuse and Kuremaa castles are just a few kilometres away.Guests have the use of 12 cabins, a sauna, a large party building, 4 covered areas, an extreme plastic film sauna and a children's play area. You can also rent the sauna complex, which has its own kitchenette and which accommodates 12-19 people on the upstairs level.Boats are available for hire and you can go fishing on the lake.
