Although West Estonia is known to most of people as a place to observe migratory birds in the spring, then Southeast Estonia is almost as fascinating. At Lämmijärv and its surrounding region it is possible to encounter various migratory waterfowls and local eagles. In addition, we also have virgin forests with rivers and wetlands, where one can observe different species of owls, woodpeckers, hazel grouses and forest birds such as crossbills, northern goshawks, river kingfishers, etc. You can encounter a moose or hear the howling of a wolf. I offer tours for both beginners (binoculars and a fieldscope are included in the price) and experienced observers - from 3 hours to several days, including accommodation. Karl Menning was the founder of professional theatre in Estonia and the first professional theatre and stage director in the country. He was the director of the Vanemuine Theatre from 1906 to 1914. His sculpture was created by Mare Mikoff and is unique for the fact that it can be turned on the spot.
Come and discover the magic of blind embossing! Create your own embossed artwork in a unique printmaking workshop. Cut an image into a linoleum sheet and see how the play of shadow and light remains on the paper. Blind embossing is a printing technique where a linoleum block is printed without color, leaving only a relief mark on the paper. In the workshop, each participant will make a linoleum block (10x15 cm) according to their own design. Tehvandi Ski Apartment is a studio apartment with all the conveniences. It is located in a safe apartment building near the Tehvandi Sports Centre, just 300 m from the centre of Otepää. There is a mystic spring on the Laiuse drumlin. The spring was used as a sacrificial spring during the second millennium and considered a holy place by ancient Estonians. The folk believed that the spring is a source of strength, gives rain and drought, causes dearth or ensures a good harvest. They believed the water in the spring heals eyes and many other ailments. That is why the people respected their spring and made sacrifices to it.There is a nice boardwalk to the spring and a bench where you can admire the spring and think beautiful thoughts. Why not wash your face with spring water to have perfect vision and clear complexion.
The popular Väike-Munamäe Ski Resort, or Munakas, which slopes offer enjoyment for athletes and challenges and possibility to improve one's skills for beginners. Eight slopes, all with various length and descent ensure excitement and security at the same time. There are two hills with T-bar lifts and a hill for children as well. The longest slope is 630 metres. In addition to sporting possibilities there is equipment rental, ski service, restaurant Munaka Resto and various events. Munaka hill tickets are valid on Kuutsemägi hill as well.In summer you can enjoy nature views while riding the chairlift, hurry down the hill on a bike or rent an E-bike.
