Cafe Johanna

Cafe Johanna dates back to 2016 when we took part in the Home Cafes Day. The positive feedback from the visitors made the host so happy that they decided to offer taste experiences more than once a year.Cafe Johanna offers a variety of flavours: morning coffee with delicious pastry, with a selection of the best rolled biscuit in town, wind pockets and eclairs, and of course, Pavlova cakes. Ületammi (Risbieter’s) cliff

The Ületammi cliff, better known as the Risbieter's cliff thanks to the film The Last Relic (1969), is a sandstone outcrop in the Ahja River Primeval Valley Nature Protection Area, on the Taevaskoja–Otteni–Taevaskoja hiking trail. The murder of Hans von Risbieter was filmed in this place. To the west of the cliff is the Otten's Bridge, which was also used for filming.It is possible to grill and make a fire at the Otten's campfire site near the Ületammi clfif. Camping is also allowed there.

Monument to Hugo Treffner

Hugo Treffner (1845–1912) was an Estonian cultural figure and the founder of Hugo Treffner Gymnasium. The school still operates in Tartu (it was called the Tartu 1st Upper Secondary School during the Soviet era), on the wall of which is also the bas-relief of the first school principal Treffner on Rüütli tänav. It is considered one of the elite schools in Estonia.The monument erected in honour of Hugo Treffner is located on the bank of the Emajõgi River in the western part of Ülejõgi Park, on the site of the former Hugo Treffner private school. The authors of the monument are sculptor Mati Karmin and architect Tiit Trummal. The monument was opened on 25 May 1997.Hugo Treffner's grave is in Tartu, in the Uus-Jaani cemetery.

St. Paul’s Church in Tartu

St. Paul's Church in Tartu is unique because it is the only Art Nouveau church in Estonia. The church features a national romantic and geometric design. The church is also famous for its two steel bells, which were made in 1922 in Germany. The glass-domed bell tower offers a stunning view of the city of Tartu. It can be reached by stairs, and on the way to the tower, you can see a small gallery that explains the church's history. A visit to the church tower is available for an additional fee. The church has a columbarium, a crypt, and a bookstore. You can also order a church tour, a private organ concert, or catering from the church kitchen.

Wagenküll Castle Spa presents Taagepera Castle theme park «Alice in Wonderland»

On the grounds of Taagepera Castle, a unique "Alice in Wonderland" theme park is open in the summer. You can enjoy thousands of flowers, a colorful magic forest, themed sculptures, and giant installations inspired by the world-famous fairytale. The park offers lots to discover for both children and adults. The 40-meter tower of the castle will be a favorite place for visitors, as each floor of the tower tells its own story. Ostrova Bed & Breakfast

Contra’s summer room in Ostrova village has been named after the poet Margus Konnula.The summer room is located on two floors in separate houses. The room has 2 single beds and one double. If necessary, we can accommodate more people in the family home. On the ground floor, there is an open summer kitchen, where you can make a lovely breakfast or enjoy the summer nights in front of the fireplace. The kitchen has a stove, a sink, a coffee machine, an oven, and dishes. We offer breakfast for an extra charge.When in Ostrova, we recommend going to the Russian sauna, which is a unique experience that you have to book in advance.

Personal winemaking workshop in Murimäe Winery

An extraordinary experience for friends or colleagues who appreciate exciting tastes and new experiences. We offer groups an exclusive opportunity to make one wine together (batch of 30 litres). Participants can combine different raw ingredients and techniques to create just the right wine. The winemaker helps and instructs and then, we leave the wine to mature for three to six months. We will design a personal label suitable for each bottle and bottle the finished wine, which we will deliver to you later. The visit also includes a tour of the vineyard and wine cellar.
