Kisejärve hiking trail is 6 km long and runs along former horse roads and swamp borders (rubber boots are recommended). The hiking trails takes you past several lakes, valuable nature and bog communities and you can also see the results of the activities of beavers.

Ahja Manor dates back to the Middle Ages (from 1553). The two-storey main building of the baroque Ahja Manor with a half-hipped roof, completed in the late 1740s, was one of the most luxurious in Southern Estonia at that time. In the years 1929–1997, a school operated in the manor house.In 2007, there was a fire in the building and only the walls remained. Several smaller buildings have been preserved from the manor, although most of them have been rebuilt. There is also a beautiful park with a pond which is under nature and heritage protection.The manor with the park is known to many thanks to the book Little Illimar based on the childhood memories of the folk writer Friedebert Tuglas from Ahja.

Every autumn, the Tartu Bike Marathon brings thousands of sports enthusiasts to Southern Estonia, but completing the marathon distance requires practice. The 86 km long track of the Tartu Bike Marathon starts from the stadium of the Tehvandi Sports Center in Otepää and ends in Elva at the Tartumaa Health Sports Center. The track is technically undemanding and largely follows the famous Tartu Marathon route. Signage with kilometer markings is available for movement in both directions. The Tartu Rattamaraton track is designed for both hiking and athletic training. The track primarily runs on forest roads and smaller gravel roads and is suitable for a range of bicycles. The diverse landscape of the Otepää Nature Park and countless lakes offer not only physical exertion but also visual beauty and mental refreshment, and why not take a stretching break at the Harimäe observation tower? The magnificent Neo-Renaissance style manor with a white main building was built during the time of G. J. Mannteuffel in 1860. In 1918, Julius Kuperjanov established a partisan battalion in Puurmani castle.At present, the castle houses the Puurmani Upper Secondary School.You can visit Puurmani castle and learn about its history in the course of the Forgotten Manors program during the visiting days in the summer. In the manor, we will look around different floors where you can see the countess's boudoir, a secret door leading to the tower, as well as the count's study and treasury. The smoke sauna belonging to the Pedaja Holiday Farm complex comfortably accommodates up to 6 people for steaming. The museum is located on the first floor of Alatskivi Castle and provides an overview of the life and work of one of Estonia's most famous composers – Eduard Tubin. The exhibition introduces other well-known musicians who studied with Tubin in Tartu under the guidance of Heino Eller – the so-called School of Tartu. At the museum, you can see and hear Tubin's manuscripts, recordings, and books. In addition, you are introduced to those who have interpreted his music and displayed musical instruments, records, and theatre programmes connected to Tubin.
