The store features products created with care by locals as well as creations by master craftspeople from all over Estonia.At Magasiait, you can purchase: lovely rugs, stylish ceramics, knitwear for the body, toes, and fingers, and a woman's best friend – jewelry. You can also find famous Estonian lace shawls, made by the skilled knitters of Haapsalu. One of the store's great prides is the selection of woven baskets, which extends from the floor almost to the ceiling in the large hall.The busy bees of Magasiait wish to make customers happy by offering a selection of gourmet items from home kitchens — "Magasiaida Talusahver." The menu includes special sauces and jams, including Sibulkad — uniquely flavored onion jams, herbal teas, and flavored salts. The highlight is locally grown lavender. There is also a corner dedicated to recycling, where you can find a piece of Estonian art history and a retro vibe. We welcome all craft enthusiasts!
In the historic basement of Alatskivi Castle, a workshop led by a master potter awaits you, where you can sculpt cups, bowls, or other clay objects yourself. This experience combines creativity, craftsmanship, and the unique atmosphere of the manor. Book a workshop in advance! However, if you visit the castle with children and master Tanel is working at the same time, you can leave the children to sculpt in the pottery room—it's often the children's favorite activity at the manor! Tanel glazes the finished objects himself and sends them to your home by mail. Beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects sculpted by Tanel himself can be purchased as souvenirs. Katre Arula`s Handicraft Workshop, where you will find crafter Katre Arula, is located in the courtyard of Põltsamaa Castle. In the workshop's store, you will find high-quality unique original creations and genuine Estonian handicraft items picked personally by Katre. The selection includes: clothes, bags, scarves, belts, gloves, jewellery, candles, ceramics, household textiles and small sweet knick-knacks.Groups can book an introduction of Katre's creation and work. She will demonstrate the items and explain their origin. She also makes custom-made items according to the client's specification.It is possible to book workshops.
The Art Studio sells great Estonian oil paintings and graphic art, high-class leather and wood goods and high temperature ceramics by Aivar Rumvolt. Please do not hesitate to call on us, if you need a special gift for your guest. The Avatud Ateljee Studio organises different courses: you are welcome to sign up for pottery, calligraphy, binding or leatherwork classes. In addition the studio organises poetry reading nights and meetings with artists. Groups can also visit Aivar Rumvolt’s pottery shop in Kubja by previous appointment. In summer there are workshops both for grown-ups and the young.
The hand-made printed clothes and home textiles made in Peipsimaa Visitor Centre have been awarded with the ‘Certified Estonian Arisinal Craft’ mark, which is the highest recognition in Estonia.Our shop sells items inspired by the handicraft of Peipsimaa and Old Believers, such as hand-printed skirts and shirts, pottery, gold embroidery bags, rugs, Kodavere belts and gloves, and gold-plated magnet onions. Rosiine Leivad is a bakery located in the Old Town of Tartu, where all products are made on-site. There are more than 15 different breads, both savoury and sweet. Wheat flour, sugar, and yeast have not been added to the breads made from whole rye flour with apple juice and fermentation starter. The bakery also makes soda bread, snacks, and cookies. We also sell nostalgic products such as honey bread, pumpernickels, and Tallinn breads. No preservatives have been added to any of the products.Rosiine Leivad is named after our grandmother Linda Rosiine who taught us to bake genuine rye bread.Bread made with love – healthy and delicious!
