Vastseliina Castle was built in 1342. The Swedish Army gave the order to build another church outside the walls of the castle as an addition to the Vastseliina Castle Chapel. The new church was consecrated as St. Catherine's Church. The church was destroyed together with the Vastseliina Castle by Russian cannon fire. Another church was built, and construction began on a stone church. Von Liphardt donated an organ made by Kessler and an alter painting by Baron Maydell to the church. Vastseliina Church was reconstructed according to the plans of the architect Pohlmann. In 1911 the church obtained a new organ built by the brothers Kriisa. Church service is held on Sunday.
Kuningamäe health trails are waiting for you in Põltsamaa, Central Estonia! Three marked trails are open for runners, walkers, and cyclists: 1.1, 1.5, and 5 km.At the beginning of the trail, there is a health trail map, a stretching wall, a bike rack, and a parking area for cars. There is also the Kuningamäe Disc Golf Park. In winter, lighted ski trails are open on Kuningamäe.

A canoe trip on the Põltsamaa River takes you away from the city directly into the silence of the bog. The Põltsamaa River flows through the Endla Nature Reserve, where views of the authentic bog landscape open up. During the trip, you can stop and step directly onto the edge of the bog from the canoe to pick cranberries, bilberries, or rare cloudberries. There is an option to make a detour to Lake Endla. A shorter route can be completed at the Kirikumäe campfire site, while the longer route ends at Jõeküla Bridge. If desired, you can continue from there for a multi-day journey. The Põltsamaa River is known for its clear water and is very popular among fishermen. Before or after the canoe trip, it is worth exploring the nearby springs (Norra Springs, Oostriku Springs, Sopa Spring, etc.). A true nature experience awaits — grab a paddle and come discover!
The sculpture was created by Mati Karmin and unveiled in front of the Tartu Market on 17 January 2008.The steel barrel rests on a granite base and the numbers and letters cut into the base inform the viewer that the date when the sculpture was opened, 17 January, is St Anthony’s Day when old Estonians used to turn their attention to the pig.

Raadi Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Tartu, consisting of cemeteries of several different congregations which were merged as late as in 1961. The congregations of Mary and Peter make up the largest part of the cemetery. There are many graves of cultural figures and researchers in the Vana-Jaani cemetery, as well as in the newer part of the University cemetery.Above the main gate of the cemetery is the inscription in the local Tartu language 'Õnsa omma ne koolnu, kes Issandan koolwa.' The Douglas fir alley in the military cemetery is under nature protection.Previously, the Vana-Jaani cemetery had a Jewish cemetery on the side of Narva maantee and an Islamic cemetery on its side.
The new monument to Villem Reiman (1861-1917) was opened in 2004 and its author is Mati Varik.Villem Reiman was a pastor and a cultural persona who fought for the independence of the Estonian people as a figurehead of the Estonian national movement.
