The smoke sauna on the shore of the pond has been carefully constructed from massive aspen logs. The stove is made from manor-era bricks, and a half-ton of field stones provides the heat. The ceiling is insulated with one and a half tons of Mooste lightweight clay mixture. The plastic sauna is located at the edge of the forest, heats up quickly, and provides an authentic, old-school sauna experience with the right amount of water in a bowl — just pour it over yourself with a ladle! From the heat of the sauan, you can dash straight into the cool pond. Located between the picturesque domes of Otepää, Toidupada offers a romantic rustic experience for groups of friends and families.Once a commonplace facility, the traditional smoke sauna has now become an exotic experience. When you are in a smoke sauna, you feel yourself going back in time and understand how, in addition to cleansing and invigorating the body, our ancestors also cleansed their soul and restored their mental balance.However, if you want an even sharper experience then in addition to the smoke sauna, you can take a dip in the bathing barrel on the outdoor terrace or jump into the ice hole in the pond in winter. It has the sauna itself plus an entrance way and two party and recreation rooms which seat up to 30 people. There is also a fireplace. The space is ideal for parties, weddings and other events. You can bring your own food or have the farmer's wife cater for you.

The largest smoke sauna in Southern Estonia awaits guests on the shore of the pond of Kakulaane Tourist Farm.We heat the sauna with alder for 5–8 hours, depending on the weather and the number of guests. Hot smoke cleans the air and the hot air in the smoke sauna is very healing. When the heating is complete, the sauna is ventilated, and some water is thrown onto the heater to get rid of the excess smoke.After the sauna, you can go for a refreshing swim in the pond in summer.
