In winter, when Lake Peipsi is frozen, the Mesi Tare family offers guests a real adventure holiday — a winter day on Lake Peipsi! The host takes the group out onto the lake ice in a karakat (a vehicle specially built for driving on ice), teaches them how to fish, and catches fish from an ice hole with the group. The fish that are caught are used to make a delicious soup in a pot set up on the lake ice. After a 3-hour karakat safari and ice fishing, a heated tent sauna awaits on shore, where you can warm up your body and then cool off in an ice hole! Traveling in small boats gives you the opportunity to be the captain of your crew for the whole day, enjoying the ride at your own pace. Discover the charm of the Emajõgi River in Tartu with the riverboat Signild. Emajõe-Suursoo, located in Tartu County, is home to dozens of bog islands and pristine nature, where a local guide can take you on an adventure. Since humans rarely set foot here, the area is home to a diverse range of species. Using bogshoes, we will walk across the bog islands and explore their primeval forests. We will definitely see traces of animal and bird activity and maybe even meet the local inhabitants themselves. If you are lucky, you may find a proud eagle owl or moose antlers during the hike. The trip also includes a light snack. The hike is suitable for children aged 12 and above. Friendly pets are welcome too!

The ride takes place on the picturesque landscape of the protected area of the Ahja River valley. The route is kaleidoscopic with moderate downhill and uphill slopes, the rapids of the Ahja River, sandstone outcrops, caves, historical bridges and interesting cultural background. The Taevaskoda (Heaven’s Halls) hiking trails offer experiences at every step, regardless of the season and weather. During the hike, we might see a kingfisher while the guide tells legends about the outcrops of Taevaskoda and helps participants recognise the places where the movie Viimne reliikvia was filmed. We will also discuss the relationship between nature and humans over the years. We will agree on the length and theme of the hike with the participants. The host of Mesi Tare will take your group on an adventure to Piirissaar, a small island in Lake Peipsi! We start from the Varnja Harbor, where the host will be waiting with a fishing boat. The boat trip lasts two hours, depending on the weather and water level. We will walk with a guide through Piirissaar's three villages and see all the important places on the island, including the Piirissaare Old Believers Museum, the location of the Old Believers' prayer house, the Orthodox church and the Piirissaare Titanic. For lunch, the guide will take you to Zinaida's home, where she will lay out a magnificent table for her guests. (Note: The food must be paid for on the spot.) The day ends with a boat trip back to Varnja.

A hike about a kilometre long with a guide and lanterns on the territory of Kalevipoeg's Home. We will visit the local history exhibition in ancient buildings and the playground, pass through a pine forest and the adventure park. We will drink tea that has been boiled on a campfire.Suitable for groups of different ages - kindergarten children, school groups, groups of coworkers, families, friend groups, etc. Catering can also be arranged and rooms can be rented in the community centre or museum. The lantern tour can be a part of your visit or a special occasion for a visit.Addditionally, you can visit the Kalevipoeg Museum and go sledding, ice skating and tubing in winter when there's snow.
