In the historic basement of Alatskivi Castle, a workshop led by a master potter awaits you, where you can sculpt cups, bowls, or other clay objects yourself. This experience combines creativity, craftsmanship, and the unique atmosphere of the manor. Book a workshop in advance! However, if you visit the castle with children and master Tanel is working at the same time, you can leave the children to sculpt in the pottery room—it's often the children's favorite activity at the manor! Tanel glazes the finished objects himself and sends them to your home by mail. Beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects sculpted by Tanel himself can be purchased as souvenirs. In 1926, on the initiative of pastor Valter Viks, a memorial to the 200 citizens of Rõuge who were killed in the War of Independence, designed by artist Voldermar Mellik, was erected near the Rõuge Church. The Estonian text engraved in the stone on the front of the memorial reads "1918-1920. Honour the Fallen! Your thankful Rõuge parish". In 1945, the Bolsheviks blew up the memorial, and the bronze soldier and its foundation stones were buried in the ground near the monument. A local artist Aksel Ollmann dug the bronze statue out under the cover of night and hid it on his farm. In 1988, the statue was dug up from its hiding place. The memorial was re-inaugurated on 30 October 1988. The statue was restored by Ars Monumentaal.

Of the Orthodox churches in Võru County, Ritsiku church in Mõniste is the second oldest (dating back to 1855). The oldest is St Catherine's Church in Võru itself.The church in Ritsiku was consecrated in the name of the prophet John the Baptist. Its name day is celebrated by the congregation every year on 24 June.The congregation was established in 1837. The church was constructed from timber and has a tin roof. It was originally known as Mõniste church, since it was located on the lands of the Mõniste estate. But since it was not in Mõniste itself, it was renamed Ritsiku church in Mõniste.The sacristan and parson did a lot of work in educating the local community. Until 1931 the congregation had its own parish school and three smaller schools.

Kuningamägi hill in Põltsamaa has an exciting new addition – a slope for mountain sports that is open to all skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts!On the slope with a 140-metre ascent, you can ride the snowboard or ski for about a couple of hundred metres. The profile of the track is intended for beginners and intermediate enthusiasts, but is also suitable for more experienced athletes. A lift takes you to the hill and you will find small jumps, pipes, and boxes when descending.It is also possible to rent a small amount of snowboard equipment (board, boots, clips, helmet) on site.Kuningamäe ski trails and a sledding hill are also nearby.

Hämsaare Holiday House is located 4.5 km outside of Võru in the village of Meegomäe on the way to Haanja. Accommodation is provided in a fully renovated 150-year-old log house with six rooms for a maximum of 25 guests. Visitors can choose between two-, three- and four-person rooms. Every room has a shower and toilet. We also have a caravan parking lot and a camping site.Breakfast can be ordered in addition to accommodation. You can also enjoy good food and drink at the Hämsa Tavern until the late hours of the evening.The accommodation building has a spacious room for seminars, training events, and for celebrating special occasions.
